REFINED DESIGN.

The exterior of the BMW M240i Convertible makes the car’s rebellious character immediately apparent. The air inlets, enlarged for M Performance, are highlighted by slats in the accent colour Ferric Grey and can be flanked by optional double headlights in full LED technology. The wing mirror caps in high-gloss black and the exclusive 18" light alloy M Double-spoke style 436 M wheels in Jet Black clearly differentiate the BMW M240i optically from the vehicles in the BMW 2 Series range. Particularly striking – the model designation at the rear in Dark Chrome instantly attracts everyone’s eye – just like the twin-sided single-flow exhaust system with tailpipes finished in Black Chrome and the very expressive LED rear lights.

ATHLETIC INTERIOR.

The interior of the BMW M240i Convertible exudes extraordinary sportiness with door sill finishers with the M240i designation and sport seats for the driver and front passenger with classic M style upholstery seams. The dynamic atmosphere is generated by an instrument cluster with the M240i designation that is illuminated when starting the engine, and the M interior trim finishers in top-grade aluminium. The sound quality of the radio BMW Professional adds a melodious final touch to the interior.

The M Performance TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 3.0 litres combines Valvetronic including Double-VANOS and direct petrol injection with a Twin Scroll turbocharger. Its extremely spontaneous response, high torque even at low revs and across a broad power band are the distinguishing features of this powerful engine. The result is a maximum torque of 500 Nm with a combined fuel consumption of 8.3 - 7.3 l/100 km. In only 4.6 seconds, the Convertible accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h. This engine is used exclusively in the M Performance Automobile of the BMW 2 Series.

BMW M240i 8-speed Steptronic Sport Transmission

8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission: maximum athletics.

Responsible for the dynamic sprints of the BMW M240i Convertible is the 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The Launch Control it contains ensures that accelerations from 0 to 100 km/h are possible in only 4.7 seconds (4.6 seconds with BMW xDrive). Simply press the DSC button, set the selector lever to position “S”, briefly depress the brake and kick down the accelerator pedal – releasing the brake now will teach you precisely what thrust means.

Lowered M Sport suspension: maximum dynamics.

In order to translate the outstanding engine performance into impressive and authoritative driving dynamics, springs and stabilisers have been precisely adjusted to the high-torque 6-cylinder engine. Specific elasto-kinematics for the front axle guarantee impressive driving moments. Even more agility is achieved by the specially tuned M sport suspension lowered by 10 millimetres and the variable sport steering including Servotronic.

BMW xDrive: maximum traction.

The optional four-wheel drive system BMW xDrive flexibly distributes the drive force of the BMW M240i xDrive Convertible between the axles and offers the best traction even under difficult road conditions. No matter what the road surface, the convertible precisely follows every direction change with noticeably less steering corrections. For the M performance typical driving dynamics, the system was especially designed to emphasise the real wheels.

Series standard M Sport brakes: maximum control.

The 18'' M light alloy Double-spoke 436 M wheels at the front are brought to a resolute halt by the four-disc fixed-calliper disc brakes made of aluminium. A two-piston variant is used on the rear axle. Thanks to the internal ventilation, the brakes reliably grip even under high thermal loads. This tremendous braking performance is immediately recognisable by the distinctive blue brake callipers with the M logo.
