THE M3 BMW M3 Sedan and M3 Competition Sedan

As this iconic sports car enters its sixth generation the BMW M3 Sedan and M3 Competition Sedan show just how much racing performance is possible with a BMW 3 Series. This comes courtesy of a 480 hp BMW M TwinPower Turbo engine, rear-wheel drive and highly developed technologies derived from motorsport, such as the M specific suspension with Active M Differential. A perfectly graduated manual 6-speed M transmission with short, precise shifting enables particularly intensive interaction between driver and vehicle - in everyday driving as well as on the racetrack.

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS AT A GLANCE:

  • Adaptive M suspension.
    BMW M3 Sedan

The Adaptive M suspension makes it possible to adjust the damper characteristics to suit any given driving situation, increasing driving dynamics and comfort. In addition to the standard COMFORT setting for increased driving comfort, the SPORT programme offers firmer damper settings, and with SPORT+, the vehicle can be used on the race track.

  • M Carbon ceramic brake.
    BMW M3 Sedan

The optional M Carbon ceramic brake delivers braking power more directly. In addition, it contributes to a lower vehicle weight, which has a positive impact on agility, dynamics and acceleration. The technical equipment is visible through carbon-ceramic brake discs and calipers in the colour Gold matt with M lettering on the front and rear axle on the outside.

  • BMW M xDrive.
    BMW M3 Sedan

BMW M xDrive with Active M Differential - available for BMW M3 and M4 Competition models from summer 2021 - guarantees maximum traction and driving dynamics for everyday driving, as well as at the racetrack. The M specific technology combines the typical agility of a rear-wheel drive with the control of an all-wheel drive. You can choose between the drive variants 4WD, 4WD Sport and – in DSC-off mode – 2WD.

  • 8-speed M Steptronic transmission.
    BMW M3 Competition Sedan

The 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic of the BMW M3 Competition offers numerous shifting options: extremely dynamic, particularly comfortable and smooth aswell as fuel-saving. You can shift manually using the gear lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or select one of three automatic programmes using Drivelogic.

  • Integrated M specific braking system.
BMW M3 Sedan and BMW M4 Competition Coupé

In addition to saving approximately 2 kg in weight, the integrated M specific braking system of the BMW M3 Competition Sedan and BMW M3 Sedan provides very high braking dynamics. For a maximum level of individualisation, the driver can choose between “Comfort” and “Sport” brake pedal parameters according to the situation. Depending on the parameters, the response behavior is designed differently. In “Sport” mode, deceleration is higher with the same distance of pedal travel particularly at low speeds while the response of the two parameter settings is very similar at high speeds.

  • The models illustrated include optional equipment.

The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model.

The values are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure the comparison between the vehicles. [With respect to these vehicles, for vehicle related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2-emissions the CO2 values may differ to the values stated here.]

The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current version applicable. The values shown are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle for the classification.

For further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars“, which is available at all selling points and at https://www.dat.de/angebote/verlagsprodukte/leitfaden-kraftstoffverbrauch.html
