As this iconic sports car enters its sixth generation the BMW M3 Sedan and M3 Competition Sedan show just how much racing performance is possible with a BMW 3 Series. This comes courtesy of a 480 hp M TwinPower Turbo engine, rear-wheel drive and highly developed technologies derived from motorsport, such as the M specific suspension with Active M Differential. A perfectly graduated manual 6-speed M transmission with short, precise shifting enables particularly intensive interaction between driver and vehicle - in everyday driving as well as on the racetrack.
BMW M3 Sedan:
Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 10.1-10.0 (WLTP)
CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 231-227 (WLTP)
BMW M3 Competition Sedan:
Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 9.8 (WLTP)
CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 224-223 (WLTP)

of torque is developed by the M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine of the BMW M3 Sedan.
The M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine features superior power delivery and the striking characteristic M engine sound. Two mono-scroll turbochargers, direct High-Precision Injection, fully variable valve control and variable camshaft control ensure outstanding performance. With an output of 353 kW (480 hp) and a maximum torque of 550 Nm, the BMW M3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.
The Adaptive M suspension makes it possible to adjust the damper characteristics to suit any given driving situation, increasing driving dynamics and comfort. In addition to the standard COMFORT setting for increased driving comfort, the SPORT programme offers firmer damper settings, and with SPORT+, the vehicle can be used on the race track.
The optional M Carbon ceramic brake delivers braking power more directly. In addition, it contributes to a lower vehicle weight, which has a positive impact on agility, dynamics and acceleration. The technical equipment is visible through carbon-ceramic brake discs and calipers in the colour Gold matt with M lettering on the front and rear axle on the outside.
BMW M xDrive with Active M Differential available for BMW M3 Competition models guarantees maximum traction and driving dynamics for everyday driving, as well as at the racetrack. The M specific technology combines the typical agility of a rear-wheel drive with the control of an all-wheel drive. You can choose between the drive variants 4WD, 4WD Sport and – in DSC-off mode – 2WD.
The 8-speed M Steptronic sport transmission with Drivelogic of the BMW M3 Competition offers numerous shifting options: extremely dynamic, particularly comfortable and smooth aswell as fuel-saving. You can shift manually using the gear lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or select one of three automatic programmes using Drivelogic.
In addition to saving approximately 2 kg in weight, the integrated M specific braking system of the BMW M3 Competition Sedan and BMW M3 Sedan provides very high braking dynamics. For a maximum level of individualisation, the driver can choose between “Comfort” and “Sport” brake pedal parameters according to the situation. Depending on the parameters, the response behavior is designed differently. In “Sport” mode, deceleration is higher with the same distance of pedal travel particularly at low speeds while the response of the two parameter settings is very similar at high speeds.
The BMW M3 Sedan and M3 Competition Sedan are equipped as standard with BMW Operating System 8 and are therefore also be fitted with the multi-sensory control/operation system iDrive with BMW Curved Display. The fully digital screen grouping of the standard-fitted BMW Live Cockpit Plus is composed of a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a control display with a screen diagonal of 14.9 inches. The modern cockpit design and the extended capabilities of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant enable a significant reduction in the number of buttons and controllers in favour of voice and touch control.
The BMW M3 Competition Sedan demonstrates genuine motor racing character both visually and technically. Propelled by a 510 hp (375 kW) high-performance M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (BMW M3 Competition Sedan with M xDrive in 3.5 seconds) with its torque of 650 Nm. With the optional M Driver's Package, the top speed is increased to 290 km/h.
With customised features and handcrafted details from BMW Individual, the BMW M3 Automobiles become unique and luxurious high-performance cars. Official data on power consumption and electric range were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see https://www.bmw.com/wltp.
For further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars“, which is available at all selling points and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
