CONSPICUOUS HIGH PERFORMANCE.
M SPECIFIC FEATURES.
The newly designed BMW kidney grille with its M specific features in Black high-gloss, together with the newly designed LED headlights, further enhance the BMW M5 Competition’s characteristic front.
PROGRESSIVE M DESIGN.
Powerful appearance: the updated progressive design of the BMW M5 Competition is evident, among other things, in the new rear apron with two twin tailpipes in black chrome.
A large high-resolution 12.3” Control Display alongside the exceptional interior trim finishers in Aluminium carbon texture rounds off the modern character of the interior.
INDIVIDUAL MEETS M.
Choice of colours: optional paint finishes, such as BMW Individual Imola Red, give the BMW M5 Competition a particularly exclusive look.
M MULTIFUNCTIONAL SEATS.
M specific highlights such as the M Multifunctional seats with illuminated M5 logo, the M specific instrument cluster or the M leather steering wheel with red gearshift paddles emphasise the sporting character of the driver-oriented cockpit.
M REAR SPOILER.
The updated rear design of the BMW M5 Competition is defined by darker three-dimensional rear lights and the M rear spoiler in Black high-gloss.
The time it takes the BMW M5 Competition to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
The 4.4-litre V8 engine of the BMW M5 Competition unleashes a mighty 460 kW (625 hp) and a tremendous torque of 750 Nm. Equipped with 350-bar high-pressure injection, two highly dynamic TwinScroll turbochargers, indirect intercooling and a cross-bank exhaust manifold for optimal response, the high-revving M power unit relies consistently on high performance – for outstanding acceleration values and lasting high performance over the entire range of engine speeds.
BMW M MODE.
The M Mode button on the centre console can be used to adjust the control intensity of the driver assistance systems. In the default ROAD setting, all the standard and optional driver assistance systems are fully activated. With the SPORT setting, they only warn but do not intervene. TRACK mode, exclusive to the BMW M5 Competition, is designed exclusively for use on race circuits and deactivates all assistance systems.
THRILLING DRIVING DYNAMICS AND AGILITY.
BMW M xDrive with Active M differential.
BMW M xDrive with Active M differential guarantees maximum traction and driving dynamics for everyday driving, as well as at the racetrack. The M specific technology combines the typical agility of a rear-wheel drive with the control of an all-wheel drive. You can choose between the drive variants 4WD, 4WD Sport and – in DSC-off mode – 2WD.
8-speed M Steptronic sport transmission.
The 8-speed M Steptronic sport transmission with Drivelogic features extremely short shifting times and numerous shifting options: from very athletic and dynamic to comfortable and fuel-efficient. The gears can also be shifted manually with the gearshift lever, or via gearshift paddles on the steering wheel.
M Carbon ceramic brake.
The M Carbon ceramic brake delivers braking power more directly. It is non-corrosive, very resistant to abrasion, tolerates more heat and contributes to a lower vehicle weight. These features lead to a positive impact on agility, dynamics and acceleration. Matt Gold-coloured brake calipers with the M designation make this special technical equipment visible from outside the vehicle.
M Sport exhaust system.
The M Sport exhaust system delivers a dynamic sound that can be modified via the integrated exhaust valve mechanism. The SPORT and SPORT+ programmes, which can be selected via the Driving dynamics buttons, are accentuated by an even more intense engine sound, while the comfort-oriented programme prioritises more discreet engine acoustics.
In every driving situation, M Servotronic delivers the right steering power, by adjusting to suit the current driving speed. In addition, it delivers a direct and precise steering feel at any speed. The system is specifically calibrated for the M line and offers two different settings that can be selected with the push of a button.
Business lounge with motor racing flair: The interior of the BMW M5 Competition combines the spaciousness and comfort of a premium sedan with the driver-focused ergonomics of a sports car. M specific features like the M gear selector switch with Drivelogic switch for setting the transmission characteristics, the M Multifunctional seats with illuminated M5 logo or the M leather steering wheel with red gearshift paddles round off the sporting character of the interior.
THE BMW M5.
The M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine in the BMW M5 delivers 441 kW (600 hp), accelerating it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Its characteristic features include the high-gloss chrome surround M specific double bars and an M badge on the new, larger BMW kidney grille and the M specific twin tailpipes.

Official data on power consumption and electric range were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see https://www.bmw.com/wltp.
For further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars“, which is available at all selling points and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
