There’s no arguing about taste. Especially good taste. For this reason, BMW offers drivers the possibility to modify their car exactly according to their wishes – or good taste – with BMW M Performance Parts. With the new BMW M240i M Performance Edition, BMW M GmbH introduces a special series to the market that everyone agrees upon – except when it comes to who gets to drive it. The edition model boasts high-quality exterior components from the BMW M Performance accessories programme which are perfectly aligned with one another directly at the factory for the first time ever. While the exterior paint finish in Alpine White gleams, the details in carbon and black create a striking contrast that immediately catches the eye. Yet the car delivers even more reasons to amaze: because the special model is powered by a 250 kW/340 hp in-line 6-cylinder engine M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology (combined fuel consumption: 8.5 – 7.7 l/100 km; combine CO2 emissions 195 – 176 g/km).

Driving pleasure down to the last detail.

The light alloy wheels in 19 inch format dominate the appearance of this compact sport coupé: dimensions 225/ 35 R19 in the front and 245/30 R19 in the rear. These forged wheels with double spokes in Bicolour Orbit Grey with a high-sheen face side will melt the hearts of any BMW M fan. At the front, the special edition features aerodynamic parts consisting of air ducts, splitter and front attachment for the bumper of which the spoiler lip is finished in matte black. The grille – including kidney bars – is also black. At the rear, a partially paint finished diffuser and a spoiler in carbon add expressive, powerful accents. Throughout the car, the carbon and black tones create interesting contrasts. Tailpipe finishing in carbon with the embossed M logo underscores the racing sport character of the BMW M240i Performance edition. Wing mirror caps in carbon and the side skirts including foliation with the M Performance insignia strengthen its agile appearance.

With years of car racing experience and enormous know-how, BMW M GmbH specifically developed components for the BMW M240i M Performance edition, optimising the slipstream around the car. It’s exactly these aerodynamic qualities that benefit the handling characteristics and driving performance of this special edition automobile. And there’s no holding back: in connection with the all-wheel xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 8.01 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions 184 g/km), it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The top speed of all drive variants is 250 km/h.

The BMW M240i M Performance Edition is available with either 6-speed manual transmission or 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. Another option is xDrive for the special edition – then the automatic transmission is always on board. The edition, limited to 750 cars, is available starting in July 2017 and will be built exclusively by the BMW factory in Leipzig. The BMW M240i M Performance Edition – no arguments here.
