You named your Instagram account after the colour of your car. But what exact colour is it?
da.green.machine: It’s a BMW M4 Coupé in Individual Colour Java Green.
Looking at your Instagram account, you’re quite a BMW M enthusiast. When did your love for M begin?
In 2013, I picked up my first BMW M, a M3 E36. Then in 2015, I came across the BMW M3 E92 Lime Rock Park Edition Coupé and just had to have it!
Great. The M3 E92 Lime Rock Park Edition is orange but in the last photos on your account the car is suddenly green. How did that happen?
Although I loved my M3, I couldn’t help but upgrade to the Green Machine when the opportunity presented itself a few months ago.
Why do you use Instagram to show the world your passion for M?
As far as I’m concerned it’s the best way to portray my passion for the brand M. I put an enormous amount of work into showcasing my car through photographs. I want people to lust over the photos and get a sense of how extraordinary the brand M really is. My Instagram page has really become a labour of love, as it represents an outlet I feel reflects my passion as a M owner.
And beyond your Instagram account? Are there any moments when you are able to share your passion with others?
Outside of Instagram, I always enjoy answering bystanders’ questions about the Green Machine wherever I may be, and describing how it feels to be behind the wheel. I always say the driving experience is unparalleled to anything else and at the end of the day, life may not always be perfect, but the car certainly is.

But what makes the brand M so special for you?
It stands out to me because of the unique design, set-up and aggressive body panels. You can easily spot an M car from miles away and it cannot be mistaken for anything else. I am not going to talk about the handling, but what I like most about the M car is you can have a monster sports car that has not compromised on cutting edge technology.
That sounds great. Are you into technology?
I am a big tech guy and that’s the reason why I especially love my iDrive system, BMW remote app, and surround view.
You’re making us blush. Is there anything beside the technology that you love about M?
The blend between performance car and a road car for daily use is remarkable. While M cars are road cars, with a push of a button a wild side is unleashed and the car is ready for tracking. The most exciting traits of the 2017 M4 ZCP are the aggressive overrun and the crazy exhaust burbles and crackling. The sound is strangely addictive!
