Double-premiere at the MotoGP.BMW M4 and M8 Gran Coupé MotoGP Safety Car create excitement in Spielberg.

With exciting races and fantastic duels, MotoGP makes fans’ hearts beat faster. At the BMW M Grand Prix of Styria, the already red-hot atmosphere of MotoGP got even hotter with the presentation of a very special prize. Race winner Miguel Oliveira not only received the usual trophy, but also an exclusive honoury award: a brand new, still camouflaged BMW M4 – because it isn’t due to make its world debut until the autumn. Oliveira will be able to configure the symbolically handed over M automobile himself before it is delivered later this year. Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW M GmbH, delivered the good news: “A fantastic performance saw him outpace the fierce competition in the MotoGP race at the BMW M Grand Prix of Styria. As a long-standing partner of Dorna and title sponsor of the event, we are delighted to honour Miguel with the new BMW M4 as a reward for his victory. But he will have to wait a little while to drive his BMW M4 – the car is so new that it isn’t actually on the market yet. However, we’re confident that he will have a lot of fun with it – as the first test drive shortly after the race has already proved.”

IMPRESSIVE DRIVING PERFORMANCE IN A NEW DESIGN.

Under the bonnet of the new BMW M8 Gran Coupé MotoGP Safety Car, an impressive V8 engine provides 625 hp. This has a tremendous effect on the M car's acceleration, taking it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The innovative M xDrive all-wheel drive technology ensures excellent driving dynamics and maximum traction in all situations. A perfect fit for racetrack duty, the innovative features also include the new BMW M Track Mode.

The BMW M8 Gran Coupé MotoGP Safety Car also breaks new ground when it comes to design: the livery is surprisingly asymmetric and features a matt-black section in anti-reflection coating. The deconstructed graphics in typical M colours also catch the eye, symbolising the digital era of motorsport.

Due to regular software updates, screen designs in the communication may differ from the actual screen design in your car.

Official data on power consumption and electric range were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see https://www.bmw.com/wltp.
