Even on his days off, M Performance Parts Ambassador Marco Wittmann banks on the most powerful letter in the world: last year he configured his own personal M automobile. He chose the M4 Coupé in Java green, which he accessorised with M Performance Parts. In keeping with racing sports, the youngest, two-time DTM champion made a pit stop recently to treat his M automobile to a new set of M Performance rims – for even better driving performance.

High Performance all along the track.

At the pit stop, we experience first-hand how Marco Wittmann handles his new M Performance rims on the BMW’s internal test track in Maisach. The pilot has opted for brand-new 763 M rims. The first M Performance rims for M models not only look the part, they are specifically designed for motorsports. Compared to the standard wheel set, the 763 M rim is considerably lighter. The result: lower rolling, better acceleration, better control when driving. In short, high-performance all along the track.

The grounds of the BMW and MINI Driving Academy in Maisach are perfect for tests like these. This is also where drivers train as a part of the BMW Driving Experience. The air is charged at the testing grounds. Then it starts. The new tires and M Performance rims dig into the asphalt on the acceleration track, transmitting extreme power to the green car. Not a single pylon tips over. Thanks to the new tires, the M4 sticks to the ground on the curves – as if it was driving on tracks along an ideal line.

What’s a tire test, if it’s not done under wet conditions? The BMW M4 Coupé takes the opportunity to show off its well-known and popular strengths: the test track’s watered-down roundabout provides the perfect challenge. Just like on the racetrack, Marco Wittmann shows off his driving skills. With ease he glides his M4 over the damp road. In addition to its raw, brute performance, the Coupé delivers stunning agility and remarkable precision. After several laps, the new M Performance rims leave no doubt – just like the world’s most powerful letter.
