With 600 bhp (441 kW) and a maximum torque of 700 Nm, the anniversary model “30 Jahre M5” is the most powerful serial production automobile ever to be built by BMW M GmbH, as well as being the most powerful automobile ever in the brand’s model history. It completes the sprint from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. For tangible enhancement of its handling properties, the special model features the Competition Package and comprises modified suspension settings with a tighter spring/damper set-up and the suspension lowered by ten millimetres. The Active M Differential of the rear axle differential has a specific control set-up to improve traction. Meanwhile the steering with M-specific Servotronic function features a more direct control map. In addition, the M Dynamic Mode of the Dynamic Stability Control DSC is even more intensely geared towards sporty handling properties. The visual appearance of the BMW M5 “30 Jahre M5”, enhanced by the BMW Individual Manufactory, is both dynamic and spectacular. The shimmering, silken matt Frozen Dark Silver metallic finish emphasises the muscular, elegant shapes of the special model in especially impressive style. The double kidney grille surround, the gill element including “30 Jahre M5” plaque in the front side panel, the clasps of the door handles and the twin tailpipes are all finished in black chrome – adding discreet but highly effective accentuations. The same applies to the 20-inch M light alloy wheels in Bicolor finish with mixed tyres.
