It wasn’t only that a total of 14 of these exclusive special editions with high-calibre motorsport technology, representing 7 percent of all made, could be admired in the delivery area at BMW Welt. It was also the man on hand, who with his victory at DTM first made the BMW M4 Champion Edition 2016 possible, namely Marco Wittmann.

The first prototype of the BMW M4 Champion Edition was driven in a closed transporter to the last DTM race of the season to surprise Marco on the evening of the race. But all optimism would have been futile if the DTM champion hadn’t shown nerves of steel and made everything clear on the Hockenheimring – another great success for the exceptional driver. Marco was impressed: “The BMW M4 DTM is a fantastic car. The 2016 model is even closer than the Champion Edition 2014 to a racing car.” Peter Quintus, head of sales and marketing at BMW M GmbH, who greeted the guests, could share in his pleasure, as the Champion Edition was sold out in the quickest time.

Marco also came to pick up his own BMW M4 Champion Edition. But, of course, he made the wishes of other proud owners and their families come true with a photo op - and gave autographs. This time not only on tickets and caps, but also where usually the 500 hp M TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder with innovative water injection rules alone: in the engine compartment. With or without autograph – congratulations to all the BMW M4 Champion Edition drivers!
