The emotional high-rev character of the M TwinPower Turbo engine, of course, remains ever-present.

With the power increased to 460 kW/625 hp, the BMW M5 Competition sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in an incredible 3.3 seconds and it only takes 10.8 seconds to reach 200 km/h. However, the engineers at BMW M have also boosted the car‘s lateral dynamics: the new engine mounts, developed specifically for the BMW M5 Competition, have a significantly tighter connection to the drive unit. This has a noticeable effect on the car’s directness and precision when turning in corners.

In order to deliver optimal power on the road, the M5 Competition engineers have adapted the chassis. Lowered by 7 mm, its optimised suspension tuning promises maximum traction. With independent damper hydraulics and stiffer springs, a higher camber at the front axle and modified wishbones and stabilisers at the rear axle, the BMW M5 Competition is ready for rapid cornering – both in everyday use and on the racetrack. The damper hydraulics can be tailored to your drive with three settings: Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus.

The M Sport exhaust system produces an even more powerful sound in the BMW M5 Competition. This version of the flap-controlled, twin-pipe exhaust system produces an extremely distinctive soundtrack with an even sportier tone, further intensifying the emotionally rich experience created by the V8 engine’s immense propulsive power. The various engine modes, which can be selected at the push of a button, include changes to the sound emitted by the exhaust system. The M Sport exhaust system makes a great visual impression too, thanks to the black chrome embellishers of the tailpipe pairs nestled neatly into the left and right of the rear apron.
