There’s no doubt about it, the setting for the annual Pebble Beach Automotive Week south of Monterey in California is unique. It is set against the backdrop of the lush green of the world’s most famous golf course, rugged coastline and the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean. Once a year, those lucky enough to drive along the winding coastal roads around the legendary Pebble Beach golf course venue can expect to get a glimpse of the world’s most exclusive automobiles. At the so-called Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, brand-new, lavishly restored and even completely untouched vintage cars are presented to the public. There’s also a place for the latest production models and concept cars. BMW M has been a regular guest here for years, and a large number of classic automobiles from Munich were also represented this time around. As well as showcasing older vehicles, the new BMW Z4 M40i First Edition celebrated its debut on the Californian coast. Meanwhile, another eye-catcher on the green was the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupé.

CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE IS THE HIGHLIGHT.

Pebble Beach Automotive Week features several events to cater for every taste. The so-called Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance is certainly a highlight for photographers and fans of gorgeous scenery. Here, participants show off their treasures on a ride on the famous 17-Mile Drive, an impressive coastal road on the Monterey Peninsula. If this isn’t enough for you, you can even bid for vehicles in numerous auctions throughout the event. However, be warned: real bargains are unlikely to be found at this spectacular car show. The highlight for participants is clearly the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where the noblest and rarest classic cars are judged by a jury according to criteria such as originality, functionality and elegance. Their owners won’t just enjoy the coveted prize afterwards, as it is virtually certain that an automotive accolade of this stature will further increase the value of their vehicles.
