From dream to reality. The BMW M8 Gran Coupé First Edition.

When the BMW M8 Concept Gran Coupé was first debuted in March 2018, it was an overnight sensation with M fans and the automotive media alike. Besides its bold design and beautiful lines, this very special car boasted truly unique details, including its iconic yellow BMW Laser Lights headlights, gold rims and exterior accents. Most captivating of all was the specially developed iridescent Saléve Vert paint, inspired by the Northern Lights. Originating from a vision and built from ambition, the M8 Gran Coupé Concept presented the perfect fusion of athleticism and sophistication. Bringing together the opposing worlds of modern luxury and classic motorsport, it inspired BMW M to make the dream into a reality.

INTRODUCING THE 1-OF-8.

The first eight cars of the M8 Gran Coupé First Edition will feature exclusive BMW Individual Manufaktur components, making them even more unique than the already extremely special series it is a part of.

These include the limited-edition model designation number lasered onto the B-pillar, stitched into the headrests and incorporated into the M8 badge on the trunk. The exclusivity is further emphasised by the Individual Manufaktur signet displayed on a metal inlay on the cup holder cover and painted onto the vehicle’s side skirts.
These 8 cars also have an earlier production date and will be available in markets from the end of 2019, while the official start of production date for the BMW M8 Gran Coupé First Edition is March 2020. One vehicle will remain in Germany, while the other seven will make their way to England, America, Switzerland, Japan, Belgium, Russia and Qatar.

FROM CONCEPT TO THE ROAD.

Signalling the start of a defining new era, the BMW M8 Gran Coupé First Edition is the result of that dream. Embodying a new level of high-performance luxury, it goes into production in March 2020 and will be limited to 400 units in total at market launch. The M8 Gran Coupé First Edition’s world premiere at the LA Auto Show in November 2019 revealed a host of extravagant new design features. Amongst the highlights were the exclusive M light-alloy wheels with a three-dimensional Y-spoke design and gold-bronze accents, and the avant-garde BMW Individual Special Paint Aurora Diamond Green Metallic. The iconic yellow BMW Laser Lights remained, complimented by a number of flourishes such as the distinctive M Gills, the side window trims, the lettering with the unmistakable M8 badge and, of course, the emotive double kidney, all finished in gold-bronze.

Official data on power consumption and electric range were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see https://www.bmw.com/wltp.
