GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW.

7 to 17 March 2019.

Every year in March, the motor show season begins in Geneva. As a Swiss trade fair, the Geneva International Motor Show has many names, one in each of the country’s four official languages; ‘Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS)’ being its English title for international visitors. The Geneva Motor Show is the only European motor show to take place every year. Taking place at the Palexpo exhibition centre, Halls 1 to 6 are reserved for international manufacturers, designers and luxury brands, while Hall 7 is dedicated to Switzerland's national automotive industry.

GREAT HISTORY.

Tradition since 1905.

Since the first motor show in 1905, Geneva has had an eventful history. Back then, 37 exhibitors attracted around 17,000 visitors to the still purely national fair, and the venue moved to the capital city of Zurich several times afterwards. It was not until 1924 that the motor show billed itself as an international event featuring important world premieres, attracting over 600,000 visitors.

Looking forwards, its organiser has announced that the categories permitted at the event will be extended. 2019’s Geneva Show will be further opened up to autonomous and electric vehicles to show all facets of passenger mobility and to give exhibitors "more flexibility in terms of exhibits".

AUTO SHANGHAI.

16 to 25 April 2019.

The Auto Shanghai is a relative newcomer among the major international motor shows: its inaugural event took place in 1985. It alternates every two years with Auto China in Beijing, also known as the Beijing Motor Show. In both cases, international car manufacturers, equipment suppliers and service providers exhibit there. Both fairs are among the most important and largest car fairs for the Asian market: Auto Shanghai 2017 attracted more than 1,000 exhibitors and more than a million visitors. The show is primarily aimed at international trade visitors.

EVERYTHING THAT MOVES.

A fair of superlatives.

At Auto Shanghai you will find everything for getting around on four or more wheels: new cars, trucks, buses and commercial vehicles, plus all conceivable after market components, audio and navigation systems, services and workshop equipment. Whether it’s tuning, special paints or car care products, there's simply nothing car-related that the show won’t feature. The proximity to the Chinese mainland also influences this trade fair: the topics of autonomy and electric mobility are particularly prevalent, as China is the largest market for these emerging trends.

IAA in Frankfurt

INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW (IAA).

10 to 22 September 2019.

Although the International Motor Show Germany, in German known as the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA), takes place every year, it is only hosted in Frankfurt every two years. However, the event alternates with the slightly less spectacular IAA Commercial Vehicles show, which always takes place on even years in Hanover. The division of the IAA between East and West Germany was decided in the same year that the Berlin Wall fell; 1989 was the last time that passenger cars and commercial vehicles were exhibited together.

120 YEARS OF HISTORY.

BMW M8 GTE

From carriages to supercars.

The very first IAA took place in 1897 at a hotel in Berlin, where just eight motorised carriages were seen on display. A lot has happened since then, and Frankfurt has carved itself a place as a fixture on the automobile industry’s calendar. In 2017, more than 800,000 people came to the city to see the latest passenger vehicles, making the IAA the most popular public trade fair in Germany. The show’s near 1,000 exhibitors from 39 countries continue to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors.

The IAA Cars show takes place every two years in the exhibition grounds in Frankfurt am Main. The 68th IAA Motor show starts on 10 March 2019, with the first two days for press only and opens to the public from 12 to 22 March 2019. Admission: about 16 euros.

Due to regular software updates, screen designs in the communication may differ from the actual screen design in your car.

Official data on power consumption and electric range were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see https://www.bmw.com/wltp.

For further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars“, which is available at all selling points and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
