The new BMW M350 xDrive features a specific chassis and suspension setup and further improved torsional and vertical stiffness compared to its predecessor. It is the only new BMW 3 Series to be powered by a six-cylinder engine. The 8-speed BMW Steptronic transmission comes as standard, as does the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. For even greater power and efficiency, the BMW M Performance model is also equipped with 48V mild hybrid technology. The combination of the internal combustion engine and electric motor generates a combined output of 326 kW (443 hp).* As standard, the BMW M350 xDrive also features the Adaptive M suspension, the M Sport differential and variable sport steering.

WITH DRIFT MOMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME.**

A completely new feature in the BMW M Performance model range is the Drift Moment. It enables the BMW M350 xDrive to deliver a completely new kind of driving experience – unfiltered, agile and dedicated to maximising the joy of going sideways. When activated, the power from the engine is fully transferred to the rear wheels, unlocking a driving sensation previously reserved only for high-performance BMW M models. Combined with the M typical control of the multidisc clutch and with DSC OFF, this creates a pure, emotionally engaging driving experience.

DEVELOPMENT OF DRIVING DYNAMICS UNDER REAL-WORLD CONDITIONS.

The new BMW 3 Series models are currently undergoing a final round of driving dynamics testing at the BMW Group test centre outside Miramas in southern France. There, the development team can make use of myriad track types – from a high-speed oval to various handling courses – as well as road surfaces of all varieties. This enables every aspect of the car’s driving behaviour to be analysed and optimised down to the finest detail. The new BMW 3 Series had already undergone a far-reaching and richly varied test program. This included testing on the frozen and snow-covered tracks at the BMW Group winter testing centre at Arjeplog, as well as test drives at the Nürburgring.
