Age restrictions
Generally, any road user who holds a valid driving licence and is fit to drive can participate in our experiences. Our M Starter and Safety Experiences are particularly suitable for beginners, young drivers and those who do not drive frequently. 17-year-olds can participate in experiences for young drivers when accompanied by a person registered on their licence. The same special conditions apply to the accompanying person as to young drivers. Registration in this case is only possible in writing. We appreciate your understanding.
We are also happy to assist over the phone.
Registration deadline
To participate in an Experience, certain preparations are necessary. Therefore, we request registration as early as possible. For bookings made within five days before the start of the Experience, we ask for a phone consultation.
Arrival
Travel to the event is at your own expense and risk.
Supervised driving from age 17
Participation in our Safety Experiences is also possible with the ‘Supervised driving from age 17’ provisional driving licence.
According to the provisions of § 48a of the driving licence regulations, driving is only permitted with an approved accompanying person. This person must, among other things, have held a valid driving licence for at least 5 years and be at least 30 years old. The accompanying person participates as a full-fledged participant in the Experience, but pays only the discounted YOUNG rate.
Accompanying persons
Accompanying persons at driving events are only possible:
- if this option is offered during the booking process,
or
- after prior enquiry and confirmation by the customer advisor following the participant’s booking
- and upon payment of the accompanying person’s fee.

For events with overnight accommodation:
Included:
- Accommodation in the participant’s double room
- Meals as part of the hotel’s half-board plan, including a selection of beverages
Not included:
- Transfer to the Experiences
- Ride-alongs during the Experiences as a driver or passenger
- Stay at the Experience areas (no view of the Experiences possible)
- Participation in the drivers’ briefing
- Participation in lunch (except in Pitztal and for track Experiences)
- Farewell snack
For events without overnight accommodation:

- Catering during the Experience in designated areas
Not included:
- Transfer to the Experience areas
- Ride-alongs during the Experiences as a driver or passenger
- Stay at the Experience areas (no view of the Experiences possible)
- Participation in the drivers’ briefing
General rules:
- Accompanying persons are not allowed to participate in the Experiences
- AREA M reserves the right to make necessary adjustments at any time, e.g. due to changes in the event schedule
Booking of double rooms
For Experiences that include overnight stays, double rooms can be booked instead of single rooms. The difference in cost should be settled directly with the hotel.
Booking confirmations and detailed Experience information
A written booking confirmation will be sent within three business days after booking. About 14 days before the Experience, detailed information about the schedule, accommodation and directions will be provided. For last-minute bookings, information will be provided in advance, via email if necessary.
Data security/SSL encryption
Registration for an Experience can be completed quickly, securely and conveniently through our online forms. All entered data is transmitted using SSL encryption, a successful method for protecting data on the internet, ensuring no unauthorised third party can access the information.
Drivers’ briefing
Depending on the type of Experience, the drivers’ briefing lasts between 40 and 120 minutes. This section covers the principles of driving physics and the Experience schedule.
Experience formats
Whether short and compact or multi-day and intensive – our Experiences are structured in levels from Compact, Essential Plus and Pro to Max, offering everything from quick fun and performance elements to challenging Experiences that may require prior knowledge.
Drivers of non-BMW cars
Our AREA M Experiences are beneficial for road safety, combining safety, driving pleasure and exploration of personal limits. These Experiences are accessible to all licence holders, regardless of whether you drive a BMW or not. We welcome the opportunity to convince drivers of non-BMW vehicles of the merits of our cars.
Flights for the Ice Experience
Flights and bookings are not part of what we offer. The price for the Experiences does not include individual travel to and from the airport, accommodation before and after the event, or related activities. However, after booking, we provide a discount code for reduced airfare through Leav.com. These personalised codes are valid only for booked participants and are not transferable. Important: our transfers and schedules are based on the current flight schedule of Leav Aviation and arrival times at Arvidsjaur Airport. If choosing a different flight connection, ensure arrival in Arvidsjaur on the arrival day is no later than 12.30 p.m. Otherwise, our transfer cannot be used. If needed, we can assist with booking an individual transfer, with costs borne by the participant.
Vouchers
Two types of vouchers can be issued: an Experience Voucher, valid for a selected Experience on a booked date, and a Value Voucher for a freely chosen euro amount, applicable to any Experience we offer. Value Vouchers are transferable and can be used by individuals meeting AREA M requirements. Note the general validity period of the vouchers.
Included services
Operating materials, fuel and insurance coverage are included in the price. More details are available in our terms and conditions.
Trainers
We exclusively employ professional trainers with relevant qualifications. However, due to organisational reasons, we cannot guarantee specific personnel.
Childcare
This service can only be offered upon request for special events or incentives. Individuals under 16 years of age may only enter the respective area when accompanied by a legal guardian.
Physical disabilities
Upon request, we can provide automatic cars, if available. For special modifications, participation with your own car is possible after consultation. Alternatively, we offer the Safety Experience for people with disabilities.
Prices and car occupancy
All prices include VAT. For incentives, a detailed offer can be provided upon request. BMW cars are available for all Experiences.
Cancellation of Experiences
Exact cancellation fees for cancelling a booked Experience can be found in the terms and conditions.
Cancellation of accommodation
Experiences including overnight stays can generally be booked without accommodation, with a credit of €50. However, we recommend taking advantage of the accommodation options as they provide a good opportunity for interaction with other participants.
Participation during pregnancy
Special caution is advised for pregnant participants as liability for bodily harm cannot be excluded. Although not prohibited in the terms and conditions, refraining from participation is recommended if individual exercises (emergency braking, oversteering) could endanger the health of mother and child. If participation is insisted upon, a medical certificate of no objection is required. From the perspective of accident insurance, there are no restrictions. Pregnancy does not affect the vehicle’s motor car liability insurance. Therefore, from an insurance perspective, there is no obstacle to participation.
Participation with your own car
For insurance reasons, participation in AREA M Experiences with your own car is not possible. However, a personalised offer for personal coaching can be created. Non-BMW vehicles are not permitted on the premises.
Catering
All drinks are included during break times. In our travel Experiences, all drinks served at the table are included.
Insurance
All participants vehicles provided by BMW are fully insured during the experience. Personal vehicles remain covered by their own insurance, as they would be in normal road traffic. Further information can be found in the terms and conditions.
Insurance bonus
Potential discounts from completing our Experiences depend on the respective insurance provider. Information can be obtained directly from the insurance company.
Requirements
Participation in our AREA M Experiences is possible with a valid driving licence and fitness to drive. Experience descriptions provide information on the corresponding requirements.
Weather conditions
Experiences are conducted under real weather conditions. However, in extreme weather situations, we reserve the right to cancel an event for safety reasons.
Weather-related cancellations
The Snow & Snow Drift Experiences in Austria are conducted on prepared snow surfaces, which must be safely navigable. This depends on weather conditions in the days and nights before the Experience and on the event day itself to ensure proper track preparation. While we strive to ensure this, participant safety and Experience quality are top priorities. Therefore, cancellations may occur at short notice. In case of cancellation, prompt notification will be provided. AREA M does not cover costs for travel, accommodation and meals. Checking emails regularly from the third day before the Experience begins and ensuring you can be reached by phone are recommended.
