minutes is the official, notarised lap time of the BMW M4 CSL for the 20.8 kilometre track (full lap) of the Nürburgring. The model thus achieved the best value ever realised by a BMW production vehicle.
The measurement on the track traditionally used as a benchmark with a length of 20.6 kilometres (excluding the straight at section T13) resulted in a lap time of 07:15.677 minutes.

M CARBON FRONT SPLITTER.
The CSL specific M Carbon front splitter generates additional downforce. The M Laserlight with yellow coloured icons impresses both technically and visually and is a unique feature of the M special models.

M CARBON FULL BUCKET SEATS.
Reduce the weight by 24 kg: Thanks to their maximum side support, the new ultra-lightweight M Carbon full bucket seats improve the driving experience – especially on the race track. Always at hand: the exclusive M Alcantara steering wheel with red 12 o’clock marker.

LIGHTWEIGHT CENTRE CONSOLE.
With its lightweight construction, the centre console of the new BMW M4 CSL consistently continues the weight reduction of the new BMW M4 CSL in the interior too.

INTEGRATED “DUCKTAIL”REAR SPOILER.
With the “Ducktail” rear spoiler and model specific M rear lights with laser technology, the tailgate made of CFRP represents a particularly sporty visual highlight. The rear diffuser made of CFRP improves the aerodynamics.

ULTRA TRACK TIRES.
Great lap times ahead: Ultra Track tyres on lightweight construction wheels exclusive to CSL and the M Carbon ceramic brake with red calipers.

The bonnet made of CFRP with visible carbon structure and red CSL-specific foil wrapping instantly delivers a statement expressing the sporty lightweight construction and powerful drive.

is developed by the M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine of the BMW M4 CSL – which is delivered exclusively with rear-wheel drive for the ultimate performance experience.

M POWER TO THE MAX.
The M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder features superior power delivery and the striking characteristic M sound. The assembly has been further developed and delivers an outstanding 405 kW (550 hp). The lightweight M precision strut in silver-grey serves to stabilise the vehicle and impressively improve the driving dynamics.
The optimum routing of the exhaust system’s pipes and their large cross sections serve to reduce backpressure. The system’s two electrically controlled flaps and bespoke titanium rear silencer additionally enable it to produce a distinctive engine note created especially for the BMW M4 CSL.

TWO VERY SPECIAL SEATS.
Thanks to their maximum side support, the M Carbon full bucket seats improve the driving experience – especially on the race track. They are 24 kg lighter than the standard seats and their removable head cushion makes racing with a helmet easier. Comfort functions such as electric seat adjustment or seat heating are not available for this seat for reasons of weight.
The lightweight construction technique used in the rear of the interior reduces the overall weight of the BMW M4 CSL by more than 20 kilograms. This is also the location for the helmet compartment exclusively available for the this special model.

LIGHTWEIGHT MEETS PERFORMANCE.
The intelligent mix of materials with carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) as well as special lightweight measures not only reduce the weight by approx. 100 kg compared with the BMW M4 Competition and thus fuel consumption, but also increases agility and performance.

SIGNATURE M PRECISION AT ITS FINEST.
The axle design of the BMW M4 CSL is designed for maximum driving dynamics. The model specific springs, anti-roll bars, damping elements and control arms contribute to the very precise drivability, especially at the limit ranges. These detail modifications and the integrated application of all powertrain and chassis systems in intensive testing on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife circuit have helped maximise the dynamic performance of the new BMW M4 CSL, while also enabling fingertip control in committed track driving.

TECHNICAL DETAILS.
Adaptive M suspension.
The Adaptive M suspension comes as a standard and makes it possible to adjust the damper characteristics to suit any given driving situation, increasing driving dynamics and comfort. In addition to the standard COMFORT setting for increased driving comfort, the SPORT programme offers firmer damper settings, and with SPORT+, the vehicle can be used on the race track.
M Carbon ceramic brake.
The M Carbon ceramic brake comes as a standard and responds more directly to braking manoeuvres. As it is sensitive to control, corrosion-free and highly heat-resistant, it wears less than conventional brake systems and, thanks to its weight-optimised design, increases the agility and dynamics of the BMW M4 CSL. Its high-gloss brake calipers in Red with M logo are visible to the outside.
8-speed M Steptronic Sport transmission.
The 8-speed M Steptronic Sport transmission with Drivelogic of the BMW M4 Competition offers numerous shifting options: extremely dynamic, particularly comfortable and smooth aswell as fuel-saving. You can shift manually using the gear lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or select one of three automatic programmes using Drivelogic. The drive torque produced by the inline 6-cylinder engine is only relayed to the rear wheels of the BMW M4 CSL.
Integrated M specific braking system.
In addition to saving approximately 2 kg in weight, the integrated M specific braking system of the BMW M4 Competition Coupé and BMW M4 Coupé provides very high braking dynamics and comes as a standard. For a maximum level of individualisation, the driver can choose between “Comfort” and “Sport” brake pedal parameters according to the situation. Depending on the parameters, the response behavior is designed differently. In “Sport” mode, deceleration is higher with the same distance of pedal travel particularly at low speeds while the response of the two parameter settings is very similar at high speeds.
M Drive Professional.
M Drive Professional is specially designed for race tracks. The ten-stage M Traction Control and the M TRACK mode are on board for made-to-order driving experiences. It switches off assistance systems, minimises displays and puts iDrive into idle mode.
