The newly developed M TwinPower Turbo V8 of the BMW X6 M Competition is a high-performance engine that impresses with efficient power delivery and a sporty sound. In addition to the two turbochargers with indirect charge air cooling located between the cylinder banks, the 4.4 litre power unit also includes High Precision Injection direct petrol injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and double VANOS continuously variable camshaft control.
It generates maximum output of 460 kW (625 hp) at 6,000 rpm. This allows the BMW X6 M Competition to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. 200 km/h is reached after 13.6 seconds. For the first time, the high-performance Sports Activity Coupé also features 48-volt technology and thus a supporting electric motor in the drivetrain – for even more spontaneous power delivery with maximum efficiency. Visually, the latest generation of drive unit is identifiable by a new engine cover with red graphic elements and a coloured M logo. As an option, the engine cover is also available in carbon-fibre.
