The entire MotoGP™ family has been eagerly awaiting this moment: the presentation of the winner’s car in the BMW M Award. This year, the presentation coincided with another amazing event. After the reveal, Brad Binder and Álex Rins took part in a very special competition in the BMW M2 CS: the two MotoGP™ aces competed in a Drive in Reverse Challenge, driving in reverse gear.

DRIVE IN REVERSE CHALLENGE.
This special challenge gave Binder and Rins the opportunity to get to know the future winner’s car up close – albeit in an unusual way. In the Drive in Reverse Challenge in Assen, the two MotoGP™ professionals had to complete a marked course in reverse gear as quickly as possible. Touching a marker cone incurred a two-second time penalty. Meanwhile, the other rider slipped into the role of commentator and presented the ‘race’ live. Who hit the most cones?
THE BMW M2 CS.

THE BMW M2 CS.
The BMW M2 CS is the latest exclusive special model from M GmbH. With significantly increased performance, outstanding driving dynamics and particularly sporty design features such as the tailgate with integrated ducktail and forged M light-alloy wheels in Gold Bronze, it offers a driving experience that is unrivalled in this vehicle class.
Precise lightweight construction with a large number of exterior and interior components made of carbon reduces the weight of the BMW M2 CS by around 30 kilograms compared to the base model. The 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder in-line engine with high-revving characteristics delivers an impressive 390 kW (530 hp). This enables the BMW M2 CS to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The new compact high-performer celebrated its world design premiere in May at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025 at Lake Como.
