BMW M Performance Parts stand for future-forward technology, a sporty, dynamic look and uncompromising quality. With the new BMW M light alloy wheels, manufactured using the innovative "High-Pressure Casting" (HPC) process, BMW is continuing its successful tradition of tailor-made individualisation. Used for the first time in the automotive industry on the BMW M5, this manufacturing method enables a completely new design language for cast light alloy wheels, featuring geometries, surfaces and the filigree contours that were previously impossible to achieve.
5 POWERFUL FACTS:
- Award-winning new manufacturing process
- Up to 20 per cent weight saving per wheel
- Even more agile handling, faster acceleration
- Greater rigidity
- Significantly reduced cycle time and lower energy consumption

UP TO 70 BLADED SPOKES PER WHEEL POSSIBLE.
The new HPC manufacturing process, used for the first time in the automotive industry for the BMW M5, will in future enable light alloy wheels with up to 70 bladed spokes, opening up entirely new possibilities for sporty and dynamic designs. It also allows for extremely thin surfaces to improve aerodynamics. A further benefit of the new process is increased strength combined with significantly lower weight and a markedly reduced carbon footprint.
This reduction is achieved by casting the light alloy wheel from the outside in under vacuum and high pressure in just 0.05 seconds. The demoulding process takes only a few seconds. No further heat treatment is required. As a result, the total production time is reduced by 50 per cent, which also lowers energy consumption.
AWARD-WINNING MANUFACTURING PROCESS.

AWARD-WINNING MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
The HPC process developed by the German company Entec-Stracon GmbH is the winner of the 2025 Innovationspreis, a German award for innovation. One of the advantages of HPC is the smaller grain size in the metal, which is a result of the process itself. Grain size refers to the size of the crystallites contained in metallic materials. Reducing the distances between the individual crystallites leads to significantly higher rigidity. While maintaining the same performance, this approach enables a weight saving of up to 20 per cent per wheel. The significant reduction in unsprung masses results in even more agile handling, faster acceleration and improved braking characteristics for the vehicle. These advantages further enhance the extremely sporty character of the BMW M5 and the BMW M5 Touring.
