The prestigious BMW M Award for the fastest qualifiers has been an integral part of MotoGP™ for many years. And the presentation of the winner’s car is one of the highlights of every season. This year, MotoGP™ even provided the stage for a world premiere, which will serve as the main prize for the winner of the BMW M Award: the new BMW M2 with M xDrive was unveiled to the global public for the first time at the Grand Prix of Hungary.

BMW M RACING BALANCE.
For the first time, the BMW M2 features M xDrive all-wheel drive, which gives the compact high-performance sports car even better traction on any surface and in any weather. This made it the perfect vehicle for the new “BMW M Racing Balance”, where “Drift Queen” Becky Evans and MotoGP™ rider Jorge Martín were able to test the model’s handling and all-wheel drive performance. This challenge calls for balance and finesse: while the driver pushes to the limit on the racetrack for the best possible lap time, the co-driver holds a bowl filled with balls – and must try to prevent any of them from falling out.

THE BMW M2 WITH M xDRIVE.
The first member of the BMW M2 family to feature all-wheel drive: equipped with innovative BMW M technologies, the BMW M2 with M xDrive delivers pure driving pleasure all year round, whatever the conditions. The advanced all-wheel-drive system ensures reliable traction in any weather and on any surface, allowing you to always make the most of the car’s performance.
The power under the bonnet is provided by the inline six-cylinder engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.7 seconds, setting a new benchmark among BMW M2 models. On the outside, the new BMW M Award winner’s car impresses with the BMW Individual Borusan Turkish Blue special paint finish, available for the first time on the M2.
ABOUT THE BMW M AWARD.

ABOUT THE BMW M AWARD.
With the BMW M2 with xDrive, BMW M GmbH continues the tradition of honouring the achievements of MotoGP™ riders over the course of a season with a special prize in the form of an exclusive BMW M high-performance model. The BMW M Award has been a cornerstone of the activities of BMW M as the ‘Official Car of MotoGP™’ since 2003 and is traditionally presented at the season finale. In every MotoGP™ qualifying session, points are awarded for the respective positions, in the same way as points are awarded in the races. The winner is the rider who has collected the most points after the final qualifying session of the season. The undisputed record winner to date is Marc Márquez: the Spaniard has already won the award eight times, most recently last year.
