ONE DESIGN CONCEPT FOR ALL MODELS.
The 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition pays tribute to the Nürburgring’s centenary and emphasises the transfer of technology from the racetrack to production cars.
The common identifying feature of all models is the special Nürburgring Green paint finish, developed exclusively for this edition. This look is complemented by edition- and model-specific elements. One such example is the lettering ‘Born on the Racetrack. Made for the Streets.’, which is the claim of BMW M models and sums up the concept: motorsport know-how is transferred into BMW M high-performance road cars.
The design concept incorporates the Nürburgring’s official ‘100 Years’ anniversary logo, the lettering ‘Nürburgring since 1927’ and the silhouette of the Nürburgring. While the eye-catching paint finish forms the visual thread running through the edition, the model-specific graphics, materials and accent colours transfer this design to the vehicles.
Inside, the cabin features black leather with contrasting green and white stitching. The BMW M2, M3 and M4 models are fitted with an M Alcantara steering wheel with matching stitching and a 12 o’clock marker; the BMW M5 models feature an M leather steering wheel with the same design signature.
Alternatively, all edition models are also available in Sapphire Black metallic with green accents.
The Nürburgring is much more than just a racetrack for us – it is a second home for the BMW M brand. All our production vehicles are put through their paces on the Nordschleife.

The BMW M2 is the compact entry into the 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition. It combines the latest evolution of the inline six-cylinder engine, dynamic proportions and a consistently driving-oriented character. The M carbon roof, the M carbon bucket seats with a green embroidered Nürburgring silhouette on the headrests, and the exclusive paint finish emphasise its connection to the Nordschleife.

The Nürburgring as a development benchmark.

The Nürburgring as a development benchmark.
The 20.8-kilometre-long Nordschleife, with its 73 corners, significant elevation changes and varying track characteristics, is considered one of the most demanding racetracks in the world. The connection between BMW Motorrad and the Nürburgring dates back to 1927, when the brand achieved its first victory there. The winner of the first 24-hour race in 1970 was also a BMW.
For BMW M and BMW Motorrad, the Nürburgring is a development track, a benchmark and a stage for ultimate performance. Under extreme conditions, the chassis, powertrain, aerodynamics, brakes and thermal management are tested in combination. The insights gained are incorporated directly into series development.
