DRIVEN BY DEDICATION.
The collaboration brings together two global cultural pioneers on four wheels, with elite skateboarding and high-performance automotive coming together under the shared vision of “Owning the Streets.” The focus are culturally relevant initiatives that highlight the parallels between skateboarding and racing. For the kick-off the new partnership chose Los Angeles – the city of style, street culture, art, and performance.

In both motorsport and skateboarding, performance is not claimed, but earned – through repetition, through failure, and through the determination to keep trying. Street League Skateboarding embodies this mindset in an authentic way. This is exactly where performance becomes culture.
THE BMW M MVP AWARD.

THE BMW M MVP AWARD.
One of the main feature elements of the partnership between BMW M and Street League Skateboarding is the BMW M Most Valuable Performance Award – or BMW M MVP Award for short. It is a new season-long award recognizing the spectacular moments in SLS events across the Championship Tour. This MVP award will highlight not just the winning moment of each event, but the individual performances that shape the season such as a clutch buzzer-beater trick, a comeback moment, the highest scoring trick of the event or a never-been-done (NBD) trick. The stakes will be high. The winners will be determined through a combination of an industry judging panel and fan voting, with one male and one female athlete to receive the award each season. As an additional prize, the winners will receive a BMW M2 for a year.
The Street Skateboarding League championships’ kick-off took place in Sydney in February 2026, on the same weekend as the Bathurst 12 Hour. Cordano Russel, Noah Nayef and Riley Pavey therefore took the opportunity to meet up with Kelvin van der Linde and Jordan Pepper from the BMW M Team WRT on the sidelines of the endurance race. It was a great opportunity for the street skateboarders and the BMW M works drivers to share their mutual passion for performance.
The next SLS contest in Downtown Los Angeles takes place on 4 April. The championship continues throughout the year, with events on the US East Coast in May, in Brazil in August, followed by France in October and Japan in November. The season will then conclude in December, returning to Brazil.
The core of the partnership is the joint development of authentic, culturally relevant content – carried by international SLS athletes as ambassadors of a shared performance mindset.
