The limited BMW M850i Edition M Heritage continues the tradition of exclusive editions from BMW M while paying tribute to the founding model of the BMW 8 dynasty. When the first BMW 8 E31 was unveiled in 1989, this elegant sports car expanded the luxury Gran Turismo segment. The E31 was a statement. Thirty years after its introduction, M GmbH brought another generation of such rolling statements onto the roads, beginning in 2019: the BMW M8 and M850i models came as a Coupé, Convertible and Gran Coupé, taking the concept of the high-performance sports car in the luxury segment to the next level.

Limited to 500 units only, the BMW M850i Edition M Heritage is available in five classic BMW Individual paint finishes. Customers can choose between Mauritius Blue metallic, Cosmos Black metallic, Oxford Green metallic, Daytona Violet metallic and Bright Red. The special edition paint finishes are a tribute to the BMW 8 E31, which made these five colours classics.

The special edition character of the Gran Coupé is immediately apparent. Striking M tri-colour accent stripes, integrated directly into the carbon fibre roof, signal its affiliation with the M Heritage Edition models from M GmbH.

The interior is characterised by sporty and luxurious features that differ greatly from the standard BMW M850i. The BMW M sports seats in the Gran Coupé are upholstered in BMW Individual Full Merino Leather with selected areas in sporty Alcantara and stitching in M colours. The stitching pattern on the seats and door panels exclusively echoes design elements of the BMW M8. Generous Alcantara trim on the doors, headliner and dashboard, previously available only as optional equipment in the BMW M8, and interior trim strips in matt carbon for the first time further emphasise the exclusive feel of the interior. Special insignia that highlight the limited-edition character of the BMW M850i Edition M Heritage are the M door sill finishers. Like the carbon cupholder cover, they feature the model designation and an edition numbering of ‘1 of 500’.
