THE XMphony by Carl Cox.

We created the song from the sounds of what the car makes itself. It’s like seeds. And you put them in soil and you water them and all of sudden something happens.

You can plan your journey, but sometimes if you take a road that you wasn’t expecting, that could have been the best road you’ve ever taken.
ABOUT THE ARTIST.

ABOUT THE ARTIST.
British DJ and music producer Carl Cox is one of the world’s most famous DJs and a living legend in electronic music. After growing up with the funk rhythms of James Brown and the early days of hip hop, he switched to electronic music in the 1980s. With his energetic mix of techno, house and acid, he has been thrilling audiences worldwide ever since and is considered a defining figure of club culture. Whether in Ibiza, Berlin or at festivals such as Tomorrowland or Burning Man, his gigs, where he often uses three turntables instead of the usual two, have always been an experience characterised by the DJ’s incomparable passion.

But Carl Cox has another great passion: motorsport. With his own motorsport team, he regularly takes part in races and proves that he also has a keen sense of speed and precision away from the turntables. Since 2013, he has been running the Carl Cox Motorsport racing team, which competes in motorcycle, touring car and Extreme E racing. Cox personally prefers adrenaline-fuelled drag racing: he has already clocked up a few miles at record speeds in his specially designed Pro Mod drag racer.
When it comes to road-legal vehicles, the music producer’s heart beats especially fast for BMW M. Starting with a BMW 316i, which he bought in 1990, he now has several M models in his garage. It is above all the performance of M cars and the brand’s close connection to motorsport that continue to fascinate him to this day.
The performance, the power and the history of racing is what spoke to me as soon as I got into my first BMW M.
