BMW iX M60 LAUNCH CONTROL START.For the first time on video: The new BMW iX M60’s acceleration.

Gentleman, start your electric engine: the BMW iX M60’s debut marks a milestone in the 50-year history of BMW M. Together with the BMW i4 M50, it embodies the entry of BMW M to the electric performance vehicle segment. And the start of new driving experiences. Especially impressive: the amazing acceleration in just 3.8 seconds** from 0 to 100 km/h. See for yourselves.

BMW iX M60:
Energy consumption in kWh/100 km: 24.7-21.7* (WLTP)
CO2 emissions in g/km: 0 (WLTP)
Electric range in km: 499-566* (WLTP)
* Provisional data; energy consumption and range measured according to the WLTP test cycle
** Electric drive with up to 397 kW during temporary performance increase <10 seconds up to 455 kW

THE iX M60 LAUNCH CONTROL START.

Accompanied by an emotive sound design from BMW M IconicSounds Electric designed by Hans Zimmer, a catapult-like start with up to 1,100 Nm** of torque and a maximum of 619 hp**, the Launch Control function in the new BMW iX M60 offers a slip-free sprint to 100 km/h. Superb performance, precise control of the electric all-wheel drive and fast reactions from the actuator-based wheel-slip limiter ensure the dynamics, agility and precision which characterize the driving experience in a BMW M automobile.

SUPERB ACCELERATION.

The advantages of Launch Control.

The drivetrain of the BMW iX M60 generates its maximum output in Sport Mode. A Launch Control function is available in this setting to achieve maximum thrust when accelerating from a standstill. Once activated, the driver can accelerate with the optimum amount of traction with the accelerator pedal fully depressed. The full power of the system and the maximum available torque of 1,100 Nm** are called up instantly, while the suspension is precisely controlled in accordance with the extreme generation of power. In the interior of the BMW iX M60, the drive’s readiness to take off is already staged when the vehicle is at a standstill by a pulsating motion in the seat surfaces and a corresponding display on the BMW Curved Display. Accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds** with the help of the Lauch Control function is a particularly exciting and emotional experience.

The Launch Control function is a prime example of how the drive control and suspension control systems of the BMW iX M60 interact with the highest precision. Optimum traction and perfect straight-line stability are ensured at all times in this way, even on slippery road surfaces. The BMW iX M60 delivers this catapult-like start from a standstill with unwavering aplomb and accelerates as if on rails and without drive slip up to a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

The suspension control systems therefore rarely need to intervene to stabilise the car. Should an intervention be required, the actuator-based wheel slip limitation ensures optimum traction with particularly fast and precise response times. The system, which is specially designed for spontaneous electric motor power generation, is integrated into the motor control unit. This eliminates the long signal paths to the control unit of the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), so that the control interventions take place at up to 10 times the speed of conventional systems and in particularly precise fashion.

BMW M ICONICSOUNDS ELECTRIC.

With hallmark M characteristics.

The thrilling driving experience in the BMW iX M60 is accompanied by an equally emotional soundtrack. It was created in a collaboration between film music composer and Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer and BMW Group Creative Director Sound Renzo Vitale. Even pressing the start/stop button is acknowledged with an inspiring acoustic signal that awakens anticipation of the purely electric driving experience to come. While driving, the BMW M IconicSounds Electric, standard in the BMW iX M60, provide authentic feedback to every movement of the accelerator pedal. The sound of the drive is characterised by a particularly energy-charged sound development.

The sound characteristics are based on the setting selected with the Driving Experience Control Switch. The acoustic difference between Modes Personal and Sport is intensely perceptible. In Sport Mode, the sound spectrum is particularly dominant and powerful. For example, the drive sound specially developed for all-electric BMW M autmobiles turns the dynamic performance of the BMW iX M60 into an even more intense experience.

Official data on power consumption and electric range were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see https://www.bmw.com/wltp.
