The first race on Saturday was marked by heavy rain and numerous incidents and had to be interrupted halfway through with a red flag. David Pittard and Jop Rappange fought their way up from last on the grid to eighth overall in the #77 BMW M4 GT3 EVO from KPX Motorsport. In the Gold Cup, this meant second place. The WRT cars also made up ground in the PRO Cup: Kelvin van der Linde and Charles Weerts finished tenth in the #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, while Jordan Pepper and Amaury Cordeel took eleventh place in the #31. The #46 car driven by Valentino Rossi and Max Hesse crossed the line in 16th place.

I am delighted and proud of the team. The Sprint Cup is a championship that is particularly close to our hearts. In our 14 participations, we have now won the title for the twelfth time.

Due to a severe weather warning, the second qualifying session was cancelled and Race 2 was postponed until Sunday evening. In dry conditions, van der Linde gained 15 places right from the start. Together with Weerts, he eventually drove the #32 car to sixth place, while Pepper and Cordeel finished eighth. Valentino Rossi and Max Hesse were also on course for a top-10 finish but had to make a pit stop for repairs after a driver’s door came loose and eventually finished in 38th place.

Three-time Silver Cup champions Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro finished seventh in their class on Saturday in the #30 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Team WRT. On Sunday, Lismont was hit at the start; the pair were forced to retire from the race. In the Bronze Cup, BMW M works driver Augusto Farfus and Darren Leung finished fourth in class in both races in the #991 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Paradine Competition.

The GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season concludes on 17 October 2026 with an Endurance race in Portimão.

We always stuck together, and I am very pleased that we were still able to win the Teams’ Championship today. That was a top race: top strategy, top pit stops – everything just came together, and we had a little bit of luck on our side as well.
Kelvin van der Linde,
