A South African legend is back: the BMW 333i Homage is based on the BMW M2 and pays tribute to the legendary BMW 333i, which was built exclusively for and in South Africa. The E30 variant first rolled off the production line in South Africa in 1985. Originally intended for racing, only 210 units were produced, quickly making the 333i a coveted rarity The fact that it was powered by the 145 kW (197 hp) 3.2-litre inline six-cylinder engine from the BMW 732i E23, gave its unique prestige an additional boost.

The BMW 333i Homage pays tribute to this legacy with a range of features that clearly reference the iconic model from the 1980s. Alpina alloy wheels, stripes in BMW M colours, four exhaust pipes and customised spoilers and front splitters clearly emphasise the homage character. The same applies to the slats of the kidney grille in M colours, serving as reference to a particular trait: although the original 333i was not a genuine M vehicle, its impressive performance led proud owners in the 1980s to attach an M badge to the kidney grille without further ado. The BMW 333i Homage is available in Alpine White, Sapphire Black, Brooklyn Grey, Zandvoort Blue and Fire Red.

The visible homage continues in the interior with carbon bucket seats and armrests featuring original Überkaro tartan upholstery. The exclusive status of the Homage Edition is underlined by a 1 of 33 plaque as a reference to the strictly limited edition.

Based on the BMW M2, the BMW 333i Homage has a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with 353 kW (480 hp) and 600 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds.

The limited edition is being offered via online auction.

BMW 325iS HOMAGE.

The BMW 325iS Homage, based on the BMW M240i xDrive, pays homage to another BMW 3 Series E30 that was produced exclusively in South Africa for the local market between 1990 and 1992: the BMW 325iS. Originally designed for a local racing series, just over 500 road-legal models were delivered. The South African version went far beyond a specification upgrade, evolving into a high-performance icon with real motorsport DNA. At the time, its astonishing output of 155 kW (211 hp) was a statement and earned the 325iS the nickname ‘Gusheshe’, meaning ‘the nimble one’. A term that is now part of everyday language in South Africa.

The special edition BMW 325iS Homage launched in South Africa pays tribute to this E30 icon with clear references to the original. Heritage-style light alloy wheels from the M Performance Parts range are part of the offer, as is the double rear spoiler in the body colour, available in Mineral White, Sapphire Black, Skyscraper Grey and Fire Red. The front splitter and especially the black door handles – typical of the ‘Gusheshe’ –  are additional references to the classic model.

The interior of the BMW 325iS Homage echoes the stylistic influences of the iconic 1990s model with black door handles and armrests featuring original Überkaro tartan upholstery. A plaque bearing the number 1 of 33 refers to the strictly limited edition of 33 units.

Based on the BMW M240i xDrive, the BMW 325iS Homage delivers 285 kW (388 hp) with a torque of 500 Nm and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

This edition will also be offered via online auction.

THE 2026 BMW M2 TURBO DESIGN EDITION.

THE 2026 BMW M2 TURBO DESIGN EDITION.

A tribute edition especially made for the US is hitting the roads, celebrating a unique BMW legend: the 2026 M2 Turbo Design Edition is a reverential tribute to the legendary BMW 2002 turbo from 1973 to 1975.

When the 2002 turbo was unveiled at the 1973 IAA motor show in Germany, it was the first European production vehicle with a turbocharged engine. The 2-litre four-cylinder engine delivered 125 kW (170 hp) and accelerated the 2002 to 100 km/h in under 7 seconds, and to 160 km/h in 18 seconds – extremely impressive figures for the time.

The 2026 M2 Turbo Design Edition pays tribute to this legend. The homage model is visibly inspired by the design of the original. It is exclusively painted in brilliant Alpine White and features hand-painted BMW Motorsport stripes on the bonnet and boot lid. The power dome on the bonnet is black, with the reversed ‘turbo’ script reminiscent of the original. The 2002 had this as an option on the spoiler at the time, so that everyone could see who was overtaking them when looking in the rear-view mirror.

The lettering can also be found at the rear. Beneath the black carbon fibre rear spoiler, the ‘turbo’ script is emblazoned beneath the M2 badge.

The interior features are also reminiscent of the iconic BMW 2002 turbo. When you open the doors, you are greeted on both sides by door sill trims bearing the inscription ‘M2 turbo’. The standard M sports seats are upholstered in black Vernasca leather with M colour accents – a nod to the stripes on the bodywork of the tribute vehicle.

Purists will particularly appreciate the engineers choice of transmission for the 2026 M2 Turbo Design Edition. At the time, the 2002 Turbo was equipped with a standard 4-speed manual transmission or an optional 5-speed manual transmission. That's why the BMW M2 Turbo Design Edition hits the road with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Its 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine delivers 353 kW (480 hp) and completes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. With the optional M Driver's Package, it is even 285 km/h.

Production of this strictly limited model will start in January 2026.
