When it was launched in the spring of 2013, the BMW M6 Gran Coupé F06 made its mark in the new segment of four-door high-performance coupés in the luxury class. The Gran Coupé is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, which delivers 412 kW (560 hp) and a massive 680 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm. The luxurious Gran Coupé combines rear-wheel drive – exceptional in this vehicle class – with Active M Differential as standard. Thanks to the additional space in the interior, the BMW M6 Gran Coupé combined the proficiency of a high-performance sports car and the comfort of a sedan with the timeless elegance of a classic grand turismo, giving it a unique position in the marketplace.

THE ELEGANCE OF HIGH PERFORMANCE.
THE ELEGANCE OF HIGH PERFORMANCE.
Numerous M design features highlight the performance characteristics of the BMW M6 Gran Coupé, including the large air intakes and the model-specific M kidney grille to ensure optimum cooling for this luxurious performance sports car. The wheelbase, 113 millimetres longer than that of the Coupé, and the wide wheel arches for a larger track width make the unique combination of sportiness and elegance of the four-door Coupé immediately apparent. Viewed from the side, the first four-door coupé from BMW appears more elongated than the two-door model, emphasising the individual character of the BMW M6 Gran Coupé F06. Thanks to the additional space in the interior, the Gran Coupé offers comfortable travel for four people. Even bulky luggage such as golf bags will easily fit as the boot capacity can be expanded to an impressive 1,265 litres by folding down the rear seat backrests.
The extremely light yet exceptionally strong carbon fibre reinforced plastic, or CFRP, is used in many areas to optimise aerodynamic properties and weight balance. This high-tech material really comes into its own in the strikingly contoured roof, which is made of visible carbon fibre and accentuates the dynamic appearance of the Gran Coupé.

LUXURIOUS HIGH-PERFORMANCE SPORTS CAR.
LUXURIOUS HIGH-PERFORMANCE SPORTS CAR.
Despite its four doors and sedan-like appearance, the Gran Coupé F06 is a genuine BMW M6. Thanks to lightweight construction and sophisticated engineering solutions, the larger Gran Coupé with its four doors weighs just 25 kilogrammes more than the two-door coupé – which is why the four-door model’s performance leaves nothing to be desired. The high-revving V8 engine is fed by its two twin-scroll turbochargers and draws sustained thrust from its 4.4-litre displacement across a wide rev range. The engine’s maximum power is available between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm. The drive produces 412 kW (560 hp) with an impressive torque of 680 Nm, allowing the elegant Gran Coupé to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. For performance purists, M GmbH also offered a Competition package that increased the output of the engine to 423 kW (575 hp) and propelled the four-door model from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. The top speed of both performance variants was electronically limited to 250 km/h as standard. With the optional M Driver’s Package, a top speed of 305 km/h could be achieved.
The combination of rear-wheel drive and the Active M Differential contribute to perfect M driving dynamics worthy of a premium segment four-door high-performance coupé. The differential ensures traction-optimised distribution of drive torque between the wheels, increasing the traction and driving stability of the Gran Coupé while improving driving safety in difficult road and weather conditions.

MODEL UPDATE FOR EVEN MORE ACCENTS.
With the model update in 2015, BMW M GmbH affirmed its claim to leadership in the high-performance luxury segment. The updated BMW M6 Gran Coupé continued the success story of the model series with an even more refined and balanced overall concept. A discreetly upgraded front end with new standard LED headlights signalled this development at first glance. Not only had the standard equipment of the Gran Coupé been expanded, but the range of customisation options was also increased, for example with new exterior and leather colours and a new full leather interior with contrasting stitching.

FROM 0 TO 100 KM/H IN 3.9 SECONDS.
The model update also made an upgraded Competition package available to ambitious drivers. In addition to exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in a double-spoke 601 M design with a bi-colour finish and mixed tyres, as well as black chrome-plated twin tailpipes, Competition models now delivered 441 kW (600 hp) and torque of 700 Nm. This enabled the four-door model to break the 4-second mark in the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h: 3.9 seconds.

Since the BMW M635i first caught everyone’s eyes in 1983, the letter-number combination M6 has stood for a unique combination of elegant coupé design and maximum performance. in 2005, this legacy was consistently continued in its successor, the BMW M6 E63/E64, and reached its peak in the third BMW M6 generation, which was produced from 2012 to 2018. In its attractive Coupé and Convertible variants, the M6 has always been one of the most sought-after models in its class. In this sense, the BMW M6 Gran Coupé with four doors, the added luxury and its grandeur in terms of body design, is the crowning glory of the M6 success story and the beginning of an automotive legend that attracts attention today as it did then.
