Formula Student Germany is an international design competition at the Hockenheimring, where students from all over the world pursue the goal of designing and manufacturing a single-seater formula racing car as a team and then competing against various, international competitors.
In the course of the development process, the students constantly have to face new challenges while going through similar or even the same processes of the automotive industry. This gives the participants a unique opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical context.
In order to emerge as the winning team, it is not only crucial how the self-designed vehicle performs on the race track, but also whether the students can convince the jury of the overall package consisting of design, performance, sales presentation, costs and business plan.

I believe in Formula Student. The programme combines many different disciplines and offers talented young people a great introduction to automotive development.

AMZ RACING TEAM.

AMZ RACING TEAM.
Since the Academic Motorsport Club Zurich (AMZ) was founded in 2006 by students at ETH Zurich, it has put out one prototype every year to participate in various Formula Student competitions in Europe. After having built three cars with combustion engines, AMZ shifted its focus on electric race cars in 2010 which it has been building since. AMZ is the first Swiss team in Formula Student and one of the most successful in recent years.
The team also strive for top performance outside of Formula Student competitions. This is impressively demonstrated by several Guinness World Records for the fastest acceleration of an electric car. After 2014 and 2016, they reclaimed the record again in 2023 and have kept it since.

With the integration of the autonomous system, the team has also been a force to reckon with in the ‘Driverless Vehicle’ category since 2017.
All this is made possible through the cooperation of the various departments within the Dresden team which are linked together to form a large whole. Driven by a passion for something great.
