To celebrate the 100th birthday of legendary artist Roy Lichtenstein (1923 – 1997), BMW M Motorsport has teamed up with PUMA to present an exclusive collection that brings the magic and allure of Le Mans and the BMW Art Cars onto the road and into wardrobes.
The story of the BMW Art Cars continues: BMW announced a collaboration at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City with internationally renowned New York-based artist Julie Mehretu to create the 20th BMW Art Car. She will be given total creative freedom to design the next instalment in BMW’s legendary collection of ”rolling sculptures”. BMW will enter Mehretu’s BMW M Hybrid V8 Art Car in the 24 Hour race of Le Mans in June 2024. This continues an almost 50-year tradition that has delighted not only motorsport enthusiasts but anyone into design or the arts, technology and mobility.

The edition model combines the sophisticated world of fashion with the high-performance character of the BMW M4 Competition Coupé. The latest BMW Films production will celebrate its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in France. The short film “The Calm” will offer audiences an enthralling dose of Hollywood action on board the new BMW i7 M70 xDrive. The most powerful road-legal series-produced car in the history of BMW M: The V8-based M HYBRID drive system in the BMW XM LABEL RED* elevates a system output to a new high of 550 kW (748 hp). The maximum system torque of this model variant reaches 1,000 Nm. Sending an impressive signal on the exterior are surfaces in the accent colour Toronto Red contrasting with the vehicle colour in Frozen Carbon Black. The colour scheme in Red/Black similarly continues throughout the interior and is a striking eye-catcher in combination with the edition-specific details.
BMW M is immersing itself in the diverse Los Angeles art scene, in the form of a collaboration with Joshua Vides and the BMW X4 M Competition. The internationally renowned artist from the USA plays with the perception of objects as a sketch and blurs the boundaries between drawing and reality.
This project was created in an exclusive edition of only 99 automobiles by Jeff Koons and BMW during several years of close collaboration: With THE 8 X JEFF KOONS, the most elaborately designed vehicle in all of BMW's history will be presented to a global audience for the first time on the occasion of Frieze Los Angeles.
New York based designer Ronnie Fieg gives a new aesthetic to a total of seven examples of the BMW i4 M50 by Kith. In addition, there is a historic BMW 1602 that has been carefully renovated, equipped with a new electric motor and finished with design details by Ronnie Fieg. Kith Vitality Green. a rich, dark green that is only available on these special models, is the colour in which all vehicles of the collaboration are painted.
Known for his colour schemes, concentric forms and kinetic compositions, FUTURA 2000 gives the BMW M2 Competition an exceptional look. The internationally renowned, New York-based artist has extensively redesigned BMW M’s compact sports car in the interior and the exterior, to highlight the rebellious character of this high-performance vehicle.
