The BMW M GmbH and the Nürburgring are closely tied to one another. The Nordschleife serves as a proving ground for every M model. Race cars of BMW M Motorsport have achieved numerous successes in various racing series, including the 24h Nürburgring. At and off the track, various BMW M landmarks such as the M Power grandstand and the M bridge shape the view. Another flagship of cooperation is the M Power Showroom, which was redesigned in 2021. Since then, the status of the Nürburgring as home of BMW M has strengthened once again.

THE GREEN HELL.
THE GREEN HELL.
The Nürburgring is undoubtedly one of the most famous, if not the most famous race tracks in the world. Originally designed in 1927 as a test and race track, the Ring served to revitalise the structurally weak Eifel region. With a length of over 25 kilometres, 87 corners and a difference in altitude of 300 metres, the Nürburgring is an exceptional race track. The Nordschleife, which at 20.832 kilometres is the oldest part of the Nürburgring, quickly gained a reputation as the most demanding race track in the world, which is why Formula 1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart respectfully christened it the ‘Green Hell’. This section of the track is regarded worldwide as the gold standard in asphalt. Whether for professional drivers or amateur petrolheads, the Nordschleife is a challenge that everyone should drive at least once in their lifetime. In 1984, a modern Grand Prix circuit was added.
Today, the Nürburgring hosts a variety of motorsport events, from the DTM and NLS to the 24-hour race of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, in which BMW has repeatedly triumphed – the victory in the first 24-hour race in 1970 went to the BMW 2002 Ti. The Nürburgring also serves as a test track for BMW M, where M models are put through their paces under the toughest conditions during development as well as after completion.

EXPERIENCE THE NÜRBURGRING UP CLOSE WITH BMW M.
It is impossible to overlook the fact that the Nürburgring is home to BMW M. The BMW M Power grandstand and the striking BMW M bridge are located directly at the start-finish straight. Those who secure a seat in the grandstand are guaranteed to enjoy one of the most spectacular views in the world of motorsport as the field of drivers thunders past at close range.
Furthermore, the M colours adorn the ‘old pit lane’ at Pit Stop T13. The old grandstand lane is located at the highest point of the Nordschleife and allows visitors to take a break or refuel during the tourist drives.

M POWER SHOWROOM.
Even when no races are taking place, the M Power Showroom in the ring°boulevard is a magnet for visitors, with a permanent exhibition of M models, a BMW M Collection shop and event areas. The vehicle exhibition offers all visitors a wide variety of M cars, classics and current models to touch and feel, while in the shop they can experience the fascination of M in the form of fashion and accessories. The event areas are completely flexible in design and are used for theory training for the BMW M Driving Experience or booked as a stylish backdrop for club and company events.
THE BMW M TEST CENTER.
THE BMW M TEST CENTER.
BMW test drivers have been regular guests at the Nürburgring since the 1960s. In the early decades, a former BMW dealership served as a base from which to coordinate participation in the DTM, Super Touring Car Championship (STW), ADAC GT Cup, 24-hour races and the BMW Ring Taxi. But at some point, more space and modern equipment were needed. Since the beginning of 2006, the refurbished BMW M Test Center has offered state-of-the-art high-tech workshop conditions that enable BMW M to test vehicles on their way to series production under the most demanding conditions and to develop new vehicle projects directly on the legendary Nordschleife. However, the strict regime does not end with the completion of a BMW M model. Even when it is already in the showroom, a vehicle bearing the most powerful letter in the world has the prestigious task of proving itself in record-breaking drives on the Nordschleife.

THE ULTIMATE TEST.
The Nordschleife is the definitive destination for racing drivers and motorsport fans worldwide. With 73 of the Nürburgring's total 87 right and left-hand bends as well as extreme inclines and declines, including blind crests, this section of the track is the ultimate test for man and machine. This is why the Nordschleife has always been the venue of choice for record-breaking drives.
Decades ago, the ten-minute mark for the 20.832-kilometre track was the measure of all things, but today, breaking the eight-minute mark is standard for road-legal series production cars. BMW M has played a significant role in this development. The BMW E46 M3 CSL broke the 8-minute mark on the Nordschleife back in 2003 with a time of 7:50 minutes. And the BMW G82 M4 CSL, the current record holder in its vehicle segment, is now just 19 seconds away from the magical 7-minute threshold on the Nordschleife.
