High performance was once again reflected in the sales figures accomplished by BMW M. The brand remained in the fast lane in 2025. For the 14th consecutive year, the manufacturer of high-performance and performance vehicles achieved record results. And for the 7th time running, BMW M GmbH vehicles outsold their competitors by a considerable margin. HIGH-PERFORMANCE EXECUTIVE MODELS DRIVE GROWTH.

The high-performance models from BMW M GmbH combine racetrack capability with unrestricted everyday usability. The BMW M5 sedan and the BMW M5 Touring became growth drivers in 2025, contributing significantly to the success of BMW M GmbH with enormous growth rates in their first full year on the market. Both models offer a model-specific version of the M HYBRID system with a maximum output of 535 kW (727 hp) and a maximum system torque of 1,000 Nm.

The “Golden Steering Wheel”, a prestigious German automobile award, underscores this success. The prize is awarded by “Auto Bild” and “Bild am Sonntag” – the no. 1 weekly German car magazine and the no. 1 German Sunday newspaper, respectively – through a top-level jury. The high-performance BMW M5 Touring model achieved the highest score of all finalists in the competition. Moreover, the jury rated the model ahead of the other class finalists in all driving disciplines, including efficiency and value for money.

TOP OVERALL RESULT, TOP IN INDIVIDUAL MARKETS.

Vehicles from BMW M GmbH clearly lead the competition in key markets. The models were particularly successful in the USA. With more than 72,000 vehicles sold, North America is the largest single market. However, M models also secure top positions in their segment in Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Korea and South Africa. BMW M GmbH recorded its strongest absolute growth in the Chinese market.

The state-of-the-art model portfolio of combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and all-electric vehicles is at the heart of this success. The development of vehicles based on the New Class will provide further impetus. Says Sylvia Neubauer, Vice President Customer, Brand, Sales at BMW M GmbH: “Our strategy of being open towards new technologies once again paid off in 2025. BMW M GmbH stands for optimal performance, independently of the powertrain type. In all markets and across all vehicle classes. Customers looking for a performance or high-performance vehicle will always find it at BMW M GmbH”.
