BMW M GmbH scores 14th consecutive year of growth.

SALES HIT RECORD LEVEL.

In 2025, BMW M GmbH increased sales to 213,457 vehicles. The high-performance executive models BMW M5 Sedan and BMW M5 Touring became key growth drivers while the BMW X3 M50 was the best-selling model.

High performance was once again reflected in the sales figures accomplished by BMW M. The brand remained in the fast lane in 2025. For the 14th consecutive year, the manufacturer of high-performance and performance vehicles achieved record results. And for the 7th time running, BMW M GmbH vehicles outsold their competitors by a considerable margin. A sales total of 213,457 vehicles surpassed the outstanding previous year's result of 206,582 vehicles by three per cent. Both high-performance and performance models hit new records.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE EXECUTIVE MODELS DRIVE GROWTH.

The high-performance models from BMW M GmbH combine racetrack capability with unrestricted everyday usability. The BMW M5 Sedan and the BMW M5 Touring became growth drivers in 2025, contributing significantly to the success of BMW M GmbH with enormous growth rates in their first full year on the market. Both models offer a model-specific version of the M HYBRID system with a maximum output of 535 kW (727 hp) and a maximum system torque of 1,000 Nm.

The “Golden Steering Wheel”, a prestigious German automobile award, underscores this success. The prize is awarded by the German car magazine “Auto Bild” and German newspaper “Bild am Sonntag” through a top-level jury. The high-performance BMW M5 Touring model achieved the highest score of all finalists in the competition. Moreover, the jury rated the model ahead of the other class finalists in all driving disciplines as well as in terms of efficiency and value for money.

The BMW M2 Coupé was the best-selling high-performance vehicle in 2025. Customers can choose from an attractive selection, as the Coupé is also available with a manual gearbox or as an even more track-focused special model, the BMW M2 CS. The M2 CS delivers 390 kW (530 hp) and clocked a record lap of 7:25.5 minutes on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2025.

The BMW M3 family also proved to be a favourite among high-performance models. The series is available in different variants and include sedans with various performance levels. The entry-level model is the purist version of the BMW M3 with a 6-speed manual transmission and 353 kW (480 hp). Then there are the hugely popular Touring variants, which were only expanded in 2025 to include the BMW M3 CS Touring. This sportiest version within the 3 Series model range delivers 405 kW (551 hp).  

The high popularity of the BMW M3 family was reflected in a new sales record: nearly 71,500 units of the high-performance model series found new owners in 2025.

BMW X3 M50 BECAME BESTSELLER.

The BMW X3 M50 proved be a particularly attractive offer. It became the best-selling model in 2025 for BMW M GmbH. The supreme top athlete among mid-range SAVs combines unique performance characteristics with distinctive charisma. The M TwinPower Turbo engine, combined with 48-volt mild hybrid technology, offers a maximum system output of 293 kW (398 hp). In addition to the performance characteristics of the drive, the BMW X3 M50 is complemented by specific chassis technology and signature M design elements.

From 2022 to 2024, the electric BMW i4 top model was the bestseller in the BMW M GmbH model range and continued to enjoy major popularity in 2025, not least thanks to the model update in the summer. The BMW i4 M60 Gran Coupé xDrive variant delivers 442 kW (601 hp) and offers a range of up to 551 km.

Vehicles from BMW M GmbH clearly lead the competition in key markets. The models were particularly successful in the USA. With more than 72,000 vehicles sold, the United States is the largest single market. However, M models also secure top positions in their segment in Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Korea and South Africa. BMW M GmbH recorded its strongest absolute growth in the Chinese market.

The state-of-the-art model portfolio of combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and all-electric vehicles is at the heart of this success. The development of vehicles based on the Neue Klasse will provide further impetus. BMW M Hybrid V8BMW M4 GT3 EVO or BMW M4 GT4 EVO – BMW M Motorsport race cars racked up more than 180 victories in 2025. The highlight of the 2025 racing season for the BMW M Hybrid V8 was its one-two victory at Road America, while the BMW M4 GT3 EVO triumphed with victories at Suzuka, Indianapolis, Watkins Glen, Petit Le Mans and, of course, the endurance classic, the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. The BMW M4 GT4 EVO teams secured more than 100 victories, including wins in the SP10 class at the Nürburgring 24-hour race and in all classes of GT4 America. Thanks to the strong results of the GT4 teams, BMW M Motorsport took the SRO manufacturers' title in the GT4 segment.

The 2026 season will see the addition of the BMW M2 Racing as a new entry-level vehicle, completing the portfolio for customer racing.
