BMW M4 CS G82.

COMPETITION SPORT x 4.

Four seats and everyday practicality combined with a top speed of over 300 km/h: when it was unveiled in 2024, the BMW M4 CS G82 represented one of the most exciting vehicle concepts, offering a combination of racetrack experience and fascinating performance on the road.

1 January 2026

The BMW M4 CS, launched as a special model, followed on from the BMW M3 CS G80 in terms of performance and dynamics, while also closing the gap between the BMW M4 Competition Coupé G82 and  and the 1,000-unit limited-run BMW M4 CSL G82 special edition. Powered by a particularly powerful version of the inline six-cylinder engine developed for the BMW M3/BMW M4 series, the BMW M4 CS was the fastest production BMW M vehicle after the BMW M4 CSL when it was launched.

Engine compartment and M precision strut of the BMW M4 CS

Developed for motorsport.

The M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder features superior power delivery and the striking characteristic M sound. The engine has been further developed and delivers an outstanding 405 kW (550 hp) and a maximum torque of 650 Nm. The 3.0-litre unit has had track performance as its raison d’être from day one of its development. Indeed, it also provides the basis for the engine in the BMW M4 GT3, which won the DTM touring car title in 2022 at the first time of asking and followed that up in 2023 with overall victories at the 24-hour races in Spa-Francorchamps and Dubai.

The optional lightweight M precision strut for the engine compartment increases torsional rigidity and improves handling through dynamically taken corners.

The optimum routing of the exhaust system’s pipes and their large cross sections serve to reduce backpressure. The system’s two electrically controlled flaps, a bespoke titanium rear silencer and two pairs of tailpipes painted in matt Black enable the BMW M4 CS it to produce an emotional sound. The engine’s acoustic presence adjusts to the powertrain setting selected via the M Setup menu.

Built for performance.

Extensive, model-specific lightweight design measures play a major part in moulding the performance qualities and exclusive character of the BMW M4 CS. The use of components made from carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) both inside and out is of key importance here. Besides its carbon fibre roof, the special-edition model also uses this lightweight, high-tech material for its bonnet, front splitter, front air intakes, exterior mirror caps, rear diffuser and Gurney-style rear spoiler to further increase driving performance.

Under its carbon shell, moreover, the BMW M4 CS features optimised components for even better driving performance: The individually tuned axle kinematics and bespoke wheel camber settings, dampers, auxiliary springs and anti-roll bars serve to optimise steering precision, transmission of lateral control forces when cornering, spring and damping response and wheel location.

Made for driving.

Interior of the BMW M4 CS

Made for driving.

A sports car cockpit designed with concentrated driving pleasure and maximum performance in mind: The driver and front passenger sit down in lightweight M Carbon bucket seats in a model-specific design. Their black and red bi-colour finish is repeated for the two rear seats of the coupé. Another highlight is the lightweight-design centre console with red “CS” lettering made of carbon fibre. The standard equipment roster for the BMW M4 CS also includes M seat belts with a woven stripe pattern in BMW M colours, door sill plates bearing the inscription “M4 CS”, an Anthracite-coloured headliner, interior trim strips in carbon fibre finish and a new designed M Alcantara steering wheel with CFRP shift paddles and a red 12 o' clock mark marker. The standard Harman Kardon Surround Sound System provides an outstanding audio experience in the interior and the comfort access emphasises everyday comfort.

3,4 seconds

The BMW M4 CS dashes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, while 0 to 200 km/h takes 11.1 seconds.

Technical details:

Adaptive M suspension.

The Adaptive M suspension makes it possible to adjust the damper characteristics to suit any given driving situation, increasing driving dynamics and comfort. In addition to the standard COMFORT setting for increased driving comfort, the SPORT programme offers firmer damper settings, and with SPORT+, the vehicle can be used on the circuit. This makes the BMW M4 CS perfectly equipped for all driving situations – whether on the road or on the racetrack.

M Carbon ceramic brake.

The optional M Carbon ceramic brake responds even more directly to braking manoeuvres than the M Compound brake system. As it is sensitive to control, corrosion-free and highly heat-resistant, it wears less than conventional brake systems and, thanks to its weight-optimised design, increases the agility and dynamics of the BMW M4 CS. Its high-gloss brake callipers in Red or matt Gold with M logo are visible to the outside.

8-speed M Steptronic Sport transmission.

The 8-speed M Steptronic Sport transmission with Drivelogic of the BMW M4 CS offers numerous shifting options: extremely dynamic, particularly comfortable and smooth aswell as fuel-saving. You can shift manually using the gear lever or the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or select one of three automatic programmes using Drivelogic.

M xDrive with Active M Differential.

M xDrive with Active M Differential guarantees maximum traction and driving dynamics for everyday driving, as well as at the racetrack. The M specific technology combines the typical agility of a rear-wheel drive with the control of an all-wheel drive. There is a choice between the drive variants 4WD, 4WD Sport and – in DSC-off mode – 2WD.

M Drive Professional.

With M Drive Professional the BMW M4 CS does not only benefit from the M Drift Analyser and M Laptimer functions for evaluating and recording driving skills and performance at the track, it additionally comes with M Traction Control, whose ten stages provide the ideal tools for pushing the car hard on closed circuits. The M Mode button on the centre console – also part of the M Drive Professional package – can be used to adjust both the level of driver assistance system activity and the content shown in the information display and optional Head-Up Display, with a choice of ROAD, SPORT and TRACK settings.
