A FRESH BREEZE IN THE CONVERTIBLE SEGMENT.
A FRESH BREEZE IN THE CONVERTIBLE SEGMENT.
The second generation of the BMW M6 Convertible impresses with an intense M feeling combined with an aesthetic design. Compared to its predecessor, the BMW M6 Cabrio E46, the F12 convertible is longer, wider and flatter, giving the body an even tauter and more elegant appearance. The expressive body design with its typical M lines and athleticism further emphasises the high-performance characteristics of the convertible. When the top is down, the classic contours of the F12 Convertible are particularly striking. The long bonnet flows smoothly into the cockpit, while the short rear end emphasises the athletic character. When closed, the convertible has an elegant coupé silhouette, with the unique “fin” architecture of its high-quality fabric top giving the premium convertible its individual appearance. The top opens and closes electrically at speeds of up to 40 km/h. And if the weather doesn’t permit but you still want some fresh air, the rear window can be lowered on its own, allowing high speeds to be reached without the passengers feeling draughty.

OPEN FOR PERFORMANCE.
OPEN FOR PERFORMANCE.
The BMW M6 Convertible F12 was equipped with the most powerful engine in its class. The high-revving 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology delivers 412 kW (560 hp) between 6,000 to 7,000 prm and an impressive 680 Nm of torque. These values result in an impressive performance, despite the fact that convertibles are heavier than their closed counterparts due to necessary body reinforcements. With a power-to-weight ratio of 3.5 kg/hp, the M6 Convertible accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 13.1 seconds – the best values among standard open-top four-seaters at the time. But even leisurely cruising, a mode of transport much appreciated by convertible drivers, is pure driving pleasure thanks to the luxurious interior design and a cockpit that is optimally protected from the wind. And if you do need to overtake an obstacle, the typical M power delivery in the form of spontaneous response even at low revs makes this a completely relaxed affair. The V8 engine delivers ample propulsion across a wide rev range, with thrust kicking in from just 1,500 rpm and continuing up to 5,750 rpm. Despite these performance figures, the engineers have improved the convertible’s efficiency by 30 per cent compared to its predecessor without compromising on high performance. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h. With the optional M Driver’s Package, 305 km/h can be reached.
The popular rear-wheel drive in combination with the Active M Differential also contributes to the perfect M driving experience. The differential distributes the drive torque fully variably between the rear wheels. This improves traction and driving stability, for example during dynamic lane changes or when accelerating out of corners.
For those who wanted an extra dose of performance, the Competition Package was available for the BMW M6 Convertible F12. As with all M vehicles, the Competition Package serves to enhance handling characteristics by fine-tuning the chassis technology to the performance characteristics of the drive system. With this equipment, the output of the M turbo engine increases to 423 kW (575 hp) between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm, saving another tenth of a second for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h.

MODEL UPDATE FOR AN EVEN SPORTIER LOOK.
The BMW M6 Convertible F12 continues the successful concept of the second generation with a series of visual refinements in 2015. Even when stationary, the model update signals its athletic and dynamic high-performance character. The front end features new standard LED headlights, while the M specific kidney grille with double bars and the front apron with large air intakes emphasise the sporty appearance. At the rear, the refined dynamic character is continued by the rear apron with integrated diffuser insert, the two M specific twin tailpipes and the M6 logo on the boot lid.
COMPETITION PACKAGE: EXTRA POWER ON REQUEST.
A new Competition Package was also available. The upgraded Competition Package increases the output of the BMW M6 Convertible F12 to 441 kW (600 hp) between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm. The maximum torque of 680 Nm is available between 1,500 and 6,000 rpm. This bump in power reduces the sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h to just 4 seconds.

SUSTAINED EFFECT.
The BMW M6 Convertible F12 is now recognised as a luxurious and technically sophisticated grand tourer with an open-top driving option. Its impressive performance and design with elegant lines make the M6 Convertible F12 a neo-classic that combines comfort, everyday practicality and driving pleasure. This also puts the BMW M6 Convertible F12 at the top of the used car market in terms of its features.
