Racing behind the wheel of a BMW M5 CS along multi-level motorways in Tokyo? Or whizzing through a Japanese landscape bathed in cherry blossom in a BMW M2? Forza Horizon 6 makes it possible. Since its launch in 2012, Forza Horizon has been one of the most popular open-world racing games of all time. In the latest version, gamers venture into one of the most fascinating and varied racing locations of all: Japan.

The Land of the Rising Sun is brought to life in a game environment whose density, richness of detail and contrast take the game to a whole new level. The races take players through nine different geographical zones, ranging from stunning natural landscapes to the steel, glass and concrete jungle of the megacity Tokyo. There are twenty-three BMW M models to choose from at the launch of the latest version of the game. Forza Horizon 6 is currently available on PC and Xbox Series X|S, with the PlayStation 5 version set to follow later this year.

From neon-lit city canyons and narrow old-town alleys in Tokyo to winding mountain passes and twisting coastal roads. From endless landscapes of rice paddies and ancient temples to a drive-by past Japan’s iconic landmark, the snow-capped Mount Fuji: Forza Horizon 6 offers a variety of settings that visibly surpasses the scope of previous instalments. The Japanese setting is organically integrated into the gaming experience. Players arrive there as tourists and qualify for the ‘Horizon Festival’, where they earn wristbands that allow them to unlock more and more races. As a side event to the classic festival, players can explore the country in ‘Discover Japan’ and, amongst other things, compete in typical Japanese hill climbs – Touge Battles.

Furthermore, the seasons in Forza Horizon 6 are more vividly rendered than in previous instalments. Spring, summer, autumn and winter are authentically depicted and are clearly distinguishable from one another in terms of changing landscapes, crops, foliage and weather, right down to the sounds of the environment. It goes without saying that races can take place both by day and by night.

A real treat for all M fans is the revamped BMW M2 Forza Edition car. The game developers have given this popular limited-edition model some exciting modifications.
