BMW M edition models always attract attention. Whether it’s the strictly limited BMW M850i Edition M Heritage or the spectacular vehicles created in collaboration between BMW M and the New York lifestyle and fashion label Kith, BMW M editions are characterised by the highest level of exclusivity. Production runs are limited to a small number of units, sometimes no more than seven vehicles.

BMW M850i EDITION M HERITAGE.

Limited to just 500 units, this edition model combines classic paint finishes with exclusive M equipment. The edition colours Mauritius Blue metallic, Cosmos Black metallic, Oxford Green metallic, Daytona Violet metallic and Bright Red pay homage to the legendary BMW 8 Series E31, the founder of the BMW 8 Series dynasty from 1989. The elegant four-door model offers typical M performance and Gran Coupé luxury. The sporty and luxurious features of the edition model go far beyond the standard equipment. The four-door coupé, which combines vintage vibes with state-of-the-art technology, thus has the potential to become a collector’s item.

BMW M4 CS EDITION VR46.

BMW M4 CS EDITION VR46.

The BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 is an exclusive edition from 2025 to mark the birthday of BMW M works driver Valentino Rossi. The model was produced in two design variants, Sport and Style, with 46 units of each. The colour concept of the two designs is inspired by Valentino Rossi’s colour scheme and his expressive appearance. The performance figures also reflect the character of their inspiration: 405 kW (550 hp), acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and 11.1 seconds for the sprint to 200 km/h, as well as a top speed of 302 km/h.

BMW XM BY KITH.

BMW XM BY KITH.

Inspired by the unique 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept, BMW M and Kith founder Ronnie Fieg, himself a dedicated collector of BMW M models, have designed an exclusive edition model: the 2025 BMW XM by Kith. The edition was offered in two colour variants, including BMW Individual Frozen Black metallic and BMW Individual Frozen Techno Violet metallic, a colour developed exclusively for this partnership. Because the BMW XM is the first original BMW M car since the BMW M1 in 1978, the edition model was produced in a limited run of only 47 units worldwide. The number reflects the years that have passed since the debut of the BMW M1.

BMW Z4 M40i EDITION PURE IMPULSE.

Exclusive interior and exterior features, new exterior paint finishes and, as a commitment to the pure sports car driving experience, even available with a 6-speed manual transmission: in 2024, the BMW Z4 M40i Edition Pure Impulse offered a design consistently geared towards an intense open-top driving experience. The 6-speed manual transmission was developed specifically for the BMW Z4 M40i, which is also evident from the M gearshift lever with model-specific sleeve on the centre console of the sporty roadster. The cognac-coloured Vernasca leather interior is particularly eye-catching in combination with the Frozen Deep Green metallic exterior paintwork for Europe and Sanremo Green metallic for North America, and has contributed significantly to the popularity of the BMW Z4 M40i Edition Pure Impulse.

BMW i4 M50 BY KITH.

BMW i4 M50 BY KITH.

As the first fully electric M model, the BMW i4 M50 has opened a new chapter. It combines the typical M DNA with the modern drive technology of an electric vehicle. As electric mobility is the guiding principle behind this partnership between BMW M and Kith, green was chosen as the colour for the edition model. Kith Vitality Green, developed jointly by BMW M and Kith, has never been offered for a BMW M model before and will not be available as a series colour in the future. The sensational edition model was strictly limited. Only seven units exist worldwide.

BMW M 50 JAHRE EDITION.

BMW M 50 JAHRE EDITION.

On 24 May 1972, the articles of association for BMW Motorsport GmbH were signed. Exactly 50 years later to the day, the company now known as BMW M GmbH presented two exclusive edition models: the BMW M 50 Jahre Edition as a BMW M3 Sedan or BMW M4 Coupé. While the BMW M3, limited to 500 units, was only available in the U.S. and in the colours Cinnebar Red, Techno Violet, Interlagos Blue, Fire Orange or Limerock Grey, the 50th Anniversary M4 was available in the equally traditional exterior colours Carbon Black, Macao Blue, Brands Hatch Grey, Imola Red and San Marino Blue. Exclusively painted wheels and a customised interior with an inscribed metal plaque on the centre console, embroidered headrests and edition door sill panels were part of the equipment in both models.

THE 8 X JEFF KOONS.

THE 8 X JEFF KOONS.

After causing a stir years earlier with the BMW M3 GT2 art car, world-renowned artist Jeff Koons scored another major coup in 2022. With a BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupé, which he designed according to his own ideas, he brought a unique, rolling work of pop art to the streets. The exterior of THE 8 X JEFF KOONS edition model, limited to 99 units, consisted of eleven different colours, with the design featuring graphic elements and geometric patterns from pop art. Inside, passengers were greeted by seats in striking shades of red and blue. Over 200 hours of handcrafting went into each individual edition model. This combination of art and craftsmanship received special recognition when the last of the 99 produced models fetched $475,000 at a Christie’s auction.

BMW M4 COMPETITION x KITH.

Just a few weeks after the world premiere of the BMW M4 Competition Coupé in 2020, BMW M launched a sensational edition model of the high-performance coupé. The edition model was available in the matt paint finishes BMW Individual Frozen Black, Frozen Dark Silver and BMW Individual Frozen Brilliant White – a tribute to the BMW M3 E30, which is, in a sense, the forefather of the M4 and once established the prestige of these colours. The BMW M4 Competition x KITH edition, strictly limited to 150 units, sold out in less than thirty minutes.

BMW M4 EDITION M HERITAGE.

BMW M4 EDITION M HERITAGE.

The 750-unit limited edition model BMW M4 Edition M Heritage was unveiled to the public in 2019 at the Nürburgring, as befits its status. The available body colours Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue metallic and Imola Red were immediately recognisable to every M fan as a reference to the logo colours of BMW M GmbH. The edition model also features this distinctive colour combination in both the exterior and interior with unique design features. The BMW M4 Edition M Heritage thus impressively embodied the classic BMW M traditions defined by motorsport and high-performance vehicles.
